Talking Decisions, Decisions

I'm hoping all of you experts can help me out. I'm in the market for a pre-owned 03-04 sedan, mid-20's, high on curb-appeal. Currently have a 01 Maxima w/40K miles & warped rotors--ridiculous, not to mention a cad issue!! Looking for reliability, luxury (sick of the road noise on the Maxima), low cost of maintenance. I will say this, had my first Maxima for 7 yrs/80K w/no problems whatsoever. The only maintenance they've ever needed was oil changes, so I'm not sure what is required to maintain a "luxury" car. Drove a 03 G35 today and loved it!! Am planning to look at tl, 325, 330, S60 and Lexus. Any pros/cons/experiences are helpful. Thanks.

I drove my 89 Maxima SE for 14 years!!!! before I replaced it. It was an awesome car. Never had a problem with it. But after 102000 miles, it was time for something new. So I got a 2003 Maxima SE. I really wanted a G, but they were only offered in RWD at the time. In 2004 Infiniti came out with the X and I was pissed. If I would have just kept my 89 for just one more year, I would have just gotten the X. Well, after owning the 03 Max fo just over 2 years, I went and drove an 05 X. That was it. Tha Max was gone and I had a shiny new X in my garage. This car is a great car to drive, no matter what the weather brings. I wouldn't consider any other car, and I drove them all.

Thanks, Rick. What about the maintenance costs? Do you really have to take it to the dealer to get the oil changed, etc? Thanks.

I haven't had to use the dealer yet for any repairs/maintenance. I still enjoy changing my own oil. As soon as I get sick of it, I'll use the dealer to change oil. Other than that, I only have 2900 miles on the clock, so all is well.

If reliability and luxury (low road noise) are at the top of your must have list, I'd suggest the Lexus. The G35 has a very distinctive exhaust note (read aggressive growl) and that combined with the presence of significant road noise from the tires will be more intrusive than the hush of the Lexus cabin. Most people that post here are performance enthusiasts that find these intrusions (exhaust noise, air intate whistle, etc.) actually enhance the driving experience.

Had the Max too and loved it. Also a G-Sedan, Coupe, and now the M. Low maintenance and few issues.
Go for the G, You'll love it.
