Re: 0-60 with mods

Seems real high!
While all cars (engines) are indeed different in their ability to make HP, an identically equiped G35S w/auto trans dynoed 218HP (which seems low).

Re: 0-60 with mods

don't say any numbers until you dyno your car with more than 1 dyno....287 does not go to the wheels, if you don't know what i'm talking about please sell your car

Re: 0-60 with mods

Why is everyone so concerned about rear wheel horsepower? I understand the science behind the loss of power through the drivetrain. Why the hang-up of saying my car makes 247.3 rwhp? Who cares. The number that matters to me is the flywheel horsepower (the larger number). All cars loose horsepower through the drivetrain. Why don't car manufacturers post the power a car has not considering drivetrain loss... because no one cares.

The reason most of us care is because that is what really moves you. That is the "power to the pavement" so to speak. If you don't car about the RWHP that's ok.

Re: 0-60 with mods

Air flow both into and out of the engine are key. The numbers could be low due to Nissan's work but the rumor is that the Z has a polished intake and plenum. I have seen it and it does not look like a mirror though. I have not seen the G sedans intake though, the Z's might be much better.

Re: 0-60 with mods

I'm sorry to interupt, but I agree with IQ9. Bottom line, what matters is what you're putting out at the pavement, granted, you have adequate rubber to move you. Torque is key too. That's one of the beauty's of the G35, well, the Sedan has the same "torque to hp (260 at the flywheel)" and the Coupe with its (torque to hp 260 to 280), torque is what ultimately launches you off the line, and pulls you through the rpm's. We're fortunate, because, most stock vehicles nowadays, aside from Mercedes or BMW don't have anywhere near that kind of torque to hp. I'm not a big Benz fan, but that is one of their best traits, the torque is usually way higher the the hp, and is proven to compete with the likes of Bimmer and others comparable (even without the manual trani that Benz does not provide for their higher up models, which I think is a shame). Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent here, but bottom line, rear wheel hp is what is most important. You can lose so much between the flywheel and the tires, even worse if you live in places like Cali (which is where I am) because they demand all this Bulls**t smog equipment.
