i just got the stillen intake and the ztube for my sedan and i am hearing this chirping noise coming from the intake is this sound normal? it uselly happens between 2-3000rpm. if it is normal, is it any way to get rid of it. i like the growl but the chirping gets annoying. input please.

I have had the Stillen and Z tube for close to two years now and have never heard anything like a chirping noise. Just a beautiful growl

The chirp is interesting. If there was a whine there might be a small air leak. I dunno.

That's my thinking......an air leak. Look for a loose clamp or vent hose left off.

I've always had the 'chirping' noise just on throttle changes. It was there before I had my intake and I always thought it was the brakes squeaking. Then when I put the intake on it was much much louder.

It's been bugging me too. I've checked and double-checked fitment and seals but I still don't know what it it... almost sounds like a squeaky throttle butterfly

When do you hear this "chirping" sound? With my Stillen/Z-tube system, I can hear the quick "hiss" as the throttle body opens when I blip the throttle. I only notice this sound when the car is parked in my garage (i.e. quiet, close quarters).

The Z-tube with a K&N panel filter, in the stock airbox, should be a little quieter. I think the stock airbox does a better job of sound insulation.

My Z-tube and Stillen intake is definetly noticeable when cruising around, moreso if I'm a bit heavy on the throttle, but I don't think it sounds offensive. It's more of a throaty sound than a whistle too.
