Thanks
when i was at pendleton (oceanside, cali), they had at least 2 on that base alone. they usually have at least one per installation, some times more.

Jasp: i'm not ex or current military but I know some people in the services right now that would probably come with me to the base, will that work?
I am in OR where there are no active bases that I know of, so I will have to take the trip to Cali, but still worth the $250 I will save, especially if they have these "helpers" you were talking about.
Are the hobby shops on 7 days a week? Should i call like "base information" for more info ,or hobby shop hours? I don't have much experience with army bases and such.
Thanks a million

yeah man... if you know somebody who can get you in, and escort you around, basically fronting that this is his car, and he might have to use his id to get a bay and tool rental. the hours depend on the individual installation... for example, between the two at pendleton, one was closed on mondays, the other closed on tuesdays. now. these 'helpers' it all depends on the guy who is there that day... for example - one guy actually changed out my wife's calipers for free. another guy, wouldn't get away from the 69 chevelle long enough to help her change her oil when i was in iraq.
