Wiper chatter
#91
After reading a very old thread on Fresh alloy it seems that slightly bending the wiper arm away from the windshield is the way to resolve this issue. I just did it and now I must wait for the rain to come to test it out...
The drivers side arm does seem to have at least twice the amount of tension against the glass as the passenger side. We shall see.

Are you talking about the arm holding the blade or the wiper blade? Good luck with bending those parts. I tried to fix it once by bending the wiper blade, and I just made it worse. And believe me, I only bent it a little bit. But, that's easy to replace. I'd hate to have to replace the wiper arm.
Well, for me, the Bosch ICONs are doing fine for me. The OEM blades chattered so crazy that it would distract me from driving. With the ICONs I haven't even thought about the blades or any chatter.

Yea I tried the bending. Didn't work. I suggest bending it back. I saw some Michelin blades in Walmart for $15 each. Work like a charm. Tried them on dirty windows, immediately after purchasing, in store parking lot. Haven't looked back. Works every time, and smooth as they should be. The raised the wiper further away from the glass, apparently applying more pressure via the spring. Give them a try, or maybe the Valeo from TireRack (a few posts back).
