18inch tire/wheel package on 05 X
I am looking at an 18inch wheel package for an 05 x.
the package includes 225 45 18s.
I was wondering if anyone can comment on the handling characteritics of going from stock 17s to this size and if there were any negative effects. I know I will have a stiffer ride.. I was wondering about gas mileage, drive issues...
thanks

I went from stock 17s to 235/45R18 wheels and tires on my 05 X and the ride is great (don't even notice any stiffer ride) and the handling has greatly improved, especially going from the Bridgestone All Seasons to a summer performance tire.
My wife agrees with me that there were no negatives with this swap they were all positive results . As long as you keep the same size wheel and tire on all 4 corners.

As to the offsets, The stock 17" is 45mm and the optional 18" Infiniti 05 sedan sport wheels that I recently acquired are also the identical 45mm offset.

Is anyone selling their 05 model 18inch sports wheels? By the way, how you get the offset information?
Also, can you post a bigger picture of your car with those wheels? Is there a lesser fender/wheel gap with the 18's now?

The wheel gap is the same since the tires are basically the same outside diameter , just lower profile and wider.
Did you click on the pic Bobby, to make it larger, I have to reduce the pic sizes so they will post here , I don't know how the others can keep them larger.

About the pics, I found out how to post larger pics here, but they (Godzilla, the site owner) would prefer them the size that I posted. I respect that and understand that if everyone posted full size it would take up too much space.
If you want bigger pics Bobby, send me your email addy via PM.

I took off the OEM 17s and replaced them with 18x8" Moda R6s and 245/40 Yokohama AVS ES 100s. Ride is not much different, but handling was improved a great deal. The wheels are 45mm offset. I would have gone with a 38mm, but I bought these wheels for the 03 Max SE the G replaced. No rubbing issues at all.
