G35 ECU Reset #1
1) Turn ignition on, wait 3 seconds
2) Push fully and release the gas pedal 5 times within 5 seconds
3) Wait 7 secs, fully push gas pedal and hold for 10 seconds until the CES light starts to blink
4) Release gas pedal (you are in diagnostic test mode 2)
5) Press and hold gas pedal for more than 10 seconds. Release pedal.
6) The CES light will continue to blink
7) Turn ignition off. Restart car.
What part did I do wrong? I got this from https://g35driver.com/forums/faq-diy/6538-ecu-resets.html

Radio off.
Climate Control completely off.
Sunroof, windows and doors closed.
Parking brake on.
Clutch pressed when doing the procedure.
Don't do the 5 times in 5 seconds too fast.

I tried to do an ecu reset with my 04.5, but couldn't get it. I tried about five times and nothing. I have read all the posts about turning off everything, using the clock on a CD, use a watch, jump up and down and yell, scream at the top of your lungs while doing a reset, etc. None of it has worked. I also tried that one where the guy said to remove the fuse in the engine bay and the one in the fuse panel inside the car, try to start the engine, etc. but that one didn't work either. I might just drive to Technosquare and get an ecu upgrade from them.

FYI, I had a few problems getting the pedal method to work, here's a few tips:
- make sure all windows are up, doors closed, sunroof closed (try that in Houston summer!)
- when you switch the key to the "on" position, it is actually past the last click (Acc2 position), just before the engine fires. You can tell it's in the "on" position when the dash lights up, but also ***when you hear the fuel pump kick in***, then go through the pedal method (with accurate timing).
- If you try and fail, then take the key out, wait 10secs before next try
It took me a few tries, but it did work - I saw the check engine light flash.
I am not convinced that it did too much, but it sure didn't hurt!
