Which tranny is in your 05?

Just wondering what everyone is choosing in their new 2005 Sedans, stick or automatic?

And by the way please don't argue about which is better, they are both good

I live in Vegas, it's a city and drive in stop and go traffic so I have an automatic transmission.

I drove an 05 manual and was seconds from buying it when I decided that I needed the smart key option, the reclining backseats, and the air vents in the back. I think all of those are only available on the Automatic. I have a 2 year old son that rides in my car a lot and his comfort and the easiness of putting him in the car without taking the key out was a huge factor. It may sound silly but I drove the slushbox and the manual mode was actually pretty good so I dropped the extra $1500 on the auto for a couple of air vents and a key. The things you do for your kids. Loving every minute I drive this car though!

Auto.

I'm lazy and the auto suits my attitude in traffic.

6MT Premium A has reclining back seats and rear air vents. No Intelligent Key though. The really hilarious thing is Infiniti's lawyers have a statement warning you that the seats should not be reclined while the vehicle is in motion for safety reasons!

I was wrong the Reclining seat backs do come on the 6-speed. However, you can not get the rear seat air conditioning vents or the smart key with a manual transmission G35 Sedan. Those two options are not part of the premium package for the manual transmission.

I think the air vents were eliminated because of the shorter arm rest in the 6mt.

On this beast, straight to the 6MT and never even considered the auto (not that there's anything wrong with that

Both, kinda. Our 04 is an Auto, and the 05 is the stick. I've never driven a manual full-time for than a couple of months at a time, so I may be sick of it by the time I get rid of it, though I think it's unlikely at this point.

The stick is just too much fun to drive.

It is different. I hate when I need to pass, I never know how much power is going to kick in on the automatic.
