2005 Brakes-average life?

i'm curious on the 2005 g-35 sedan, how is the brake wear? are the front and rear brakes lasting longer than the brakes on the 2003 g-35 sedan?

i'm on my 3rd set of front brakes and i only have 25k miles.

Thanks

Third set of front brakes in 25K?

What year is your car? Are you driving an 05?

I can only say (at this point I have 2700 miles) that the 05 brakes, on MY car, make zero dust. How they wear remains to be seen.

03/04 has known brake wear issues and that is why Infiniti offer a 3 year 36k coverage on those brakes. I hope you got those brake replace for free. The 05 has not been on the market long enough to exhibit the same problem but supposly Infinity switch to a different brakes to remedy this problem. I have 05 and test drove the 04, and the brakes on the 04 fills much stronger and stop on a dime on slight pressure. The 05 brakes needs a hard stomp to stop but does stop very fast if u apply full pressure on the pedal.

I just went from an '04 to an '05, and the difference is obvious, I am actually having to get used to these brakes, rolled into a couple of crosswalks so far, I can see how the grabbiness of the '03-'04 brakes would cause quick wear, it was almost like you were applying full pressure everytime you hit the brakes. I had my brakes replaced at 15k on the '04, under warranty of course. I think the brake wear issue with the '03-'04's was obvious right away from what I have been told.

I have an O4 and have had the brakes changed at about 14k under the mfg warranty. I have about 23K now and the brakes are starting to act up again. Is the extended warranty by the factory for 36 mo or 36K good for only one change or will they cover for the brakes again. If not, I want to look into aftermarket parts. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm looking or low dust, no squeaks, and longer wear.

05s better not have the break life issue, that's one of the major reasons why I never gave in and pulled the trigger on a used 03/04! There's definitely a world of difference in the feel and "grabbiness" issue being resolved ... I'm not sure anybody's had their 05 long enough to know about pad life after 15-20K miles. As a betting man, I'm guessing this issue was resolved, especially considering what a major snafu it's been on the earlier models

Damn what are you guys doing to your brakes? I got 25K from my first set of pads which is about what I would expect from any pads.

I taking my 04 in for warranty brake service next week. 18k miles on the first set of pads. What I'm doing to my brakes is a lot of city driving. If most my miles were highway, I'd expect to get 25k too.

I have an 04 with 16K and don't have any problems. What problems are you guys talking about? Rotors, pads?

96.873% Most of my driving has been City (SF Bay Area) driving. I just don't stomp the $hit out of them everytime I need to brake.

2005 g35x break dust

I have had my 2005 g35x for about 2 months now with 2.3k miles on it. It produces TONS of break dust. I am a bit on a zaino high right now and am super **** about keeping my car clean, but I feel that the break dust is way above average compared to other sedans. I'm hoping I get about 20k miles on my breaks though. The breaking on this car is amazing.

How do you know if the barkes are producing BRAKE dust?
Where do you look. I have no clue what BREAK dust means?
