IFS Early Termination

Hello All,

Is anyone familiar with Early Termination that IFS offers? I've been told that it is cheaper than selling a car back to the dealer, but they don't offer it until 12 months. I'm wondering if it is enough cheaper to warrant holding out that long, since I'm only 6 months or so into a lease now. I've tried calling them to get a theoretical #, but they're not willing to speculate, or give what the current cost would be if it was at 12 months now.

Thanks,
Tony

I don't get this, in your other thread, you make it sound like you purchased the car, but here you say you are on a lease. ?

I can no longer afford this vehicle/I no longer need or want this vehicle; can I get out of this lease early?
You have an early termination option in your lease agreement. You may contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-627-4437 to advise you if your account is eligible for early termination.

*** Note: California accounts are administered differently. ***

How do I qualify for an early termination quote?

In most states you must have made 12 payments in order to be eligible to do an early termination.
Your account must be current.
Your lease agreement requires you to provide a 30-day prior written notification requesting an early termination quote. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-627-4437.

How is an early termination/quote calculated?
An early termination fee is the difference, if any, between the unpaid adjusted capitalized cost and the fair market wholesale value of the vehicle. This basically represents the present value of monthly payments not yet due on your lease and the purchase option price less the wholesale value of the vehicle.

That's really not it at all. As I mentioned, I'm happy for all of you that are having positive experiences, but I'm not. Some people like chocolate, some like vanilla; neither is "right".

I like strawberry or raspberry. I guess I'm a berry guy.
