Ok, hypothetically speaking who would win.... An auto G35s w/ only z tube and kn filter vs. an 04/05 S2k stick from a roll starting at about 80 and maybe going up to around 120?
I think it would be about dead even

You will take an 01-02 S2k, but not the new ones.

If ur auto, then he should pull away. If ur stick then you should be even with him or even pull little bit.

DONT TELL ME S2k IS FASTER BLAH BLAH BLAH THIS COMES FROM MY OWN EXPERIENCE! AND IF THERE ARE ANY S2Ks THAT WANNA CHALLANGE ME I'LL BE MORE THAN HAPPY TO GIVE IT A GO!

According to Best Motoring, with S2k and RX8 and S2K and G35coupe on a roll, it seems S2K are faster........

Coming from my own experience (owning both cars), the S2K will pull away if, and it's a big if, it's properly driven. That means being in the right gear and above 6500 rpms. This goes for any year S2K.

Its a driver's race. Both car car too close in performance at acceleration but for top speed wise G will have a more advantage, if you removed the governer.

I use to race around with my 94 BMW 530i V8 and its just average from 0 - 60. But on Freeway, its quick mostly due to the powerband and the gearing of the car. Still missed my Saab 9000CD turbo. That thing its a monster. It pull to top speed in a hurry with no drop off at all and its only a L4 turbo. The best turbo I every felt. As solid as a V8. Quiet and smooth.

I agree @ BMW 530i, I drive a 1993 BMW 525i, it is just average from 0-60, but from like 70-100, if you just tap on the gas, the thing accelerates so fast. My Father has an 2002 BMW X5 3.0i, it is much faster from 0-60, and the low end torque on that thing is nice, but can not beat the 525i at higher speeds, last but not least, my Mother has an 2002 Infiniti I35, when I say fast from 0-60, I mean GOSH, low end torque is NICE, and high speeds are nice too, fastest thing in the driveway. Father use to have 1993 Mazda RX-7 Twin Turbo, with Peter Ferrel four inch exhaust. Fastest thing I have ever driven in my life, and will DEFINITELY beat any G35 Coupe!

If it's a jelly roll, of course. If it's a crescent roll, it could go either way.

It would be a driver's race between a 350Z and an S2000 but since the G35 is a bit heavier than the Z, the S2000 should have a slight advantage. However, the S2000 is not an easy car to drive when it comes to extracting all of its performance.

For top speed, a 6MT sedan should edge out an S2000 since the 6MT is goverened to 155 while the S2000 just barely hits 150-155 due to drag (top up - forget about it with the top down).

As for the roll, I would prefer the jelly. Mmmmm.

Ok, so I actually DID race the S2k from a roll @80. (03.5s auto w/ z tube & kn filter) He was def. an 04/05 stick. He had his top down. It was Dead even-I mean door to door the whole way to 120. Sorry, I thought my winking face would let you all know that this was not so hypothetical.

What was all that crap about BMW's, RX7's, and I35's.....what an idiot.

The Rx-7 would definitely own the G35 from any speed. I did some pretty hard launches on my friends and that thing was CRAZY. It handled like a dream too
