I am sick...listen to this. After spending several hours cleaning, waxing and polishing my 1 month old 05, I was so excited how good it looked. I have taken extra care to park away from people and not to follow too closely to avoid dents and chips. I even had a clear bra installed.

So my 3 yr. old son wants to go down to our community pool. Instead of taking my car, we take the wife's Pathfinder. As I am leaving I notice my neighbor is edging and cuttin his grass (about time). I do not think about it because my car is safely in the driveway....WRONG. He has lava rocks in his flowerbeds instead of pinestraw and 2 of the rock flew into the side of my car denting the chrome around the window and damaging the paint in 2 places. The paint is not too bad but the dented chrome sticks out lika a sore thumb.

Does anyone know how much it will cost to replace the chrome trim around the passenger front window on an 05 sedan?

Sux man. I have no idea about the cost of the chrome trim, but hopefully your neighbor is doing the right thing in this situation.

 

I would guess it would be about $200 for each side of the car, but hopefully less if only replacing a section and they sell it that way.

Did you neighbor admit to having the rock fly and hit your car and agree to pay for the damage?

 

I have not seen him yet. It is so obvious because of the damage and the rock fragments on the ground next to the car. No one else on this street has this type of rock so I know it came from him.

I guess I should have taken the G and let my wife's car take the abuse.

 

I drove through a nice shower of rocks about a month after getting my car due to some guy mowing along the ditch. Now I get nervous whenever I'm driving by someone cutting grass near the edge of the road. Personally I'd rather have the trim take the harder hit than the paint. Still sorry to hear what happened...good luck.

 

I know it's hard to do, but I would approach him and ask him about it but be friendly about it. I'm sure he knows it happened and is somewhat avoiding the situation, but knows he should say something.

flying rocks are a problem. My gardner's mower just launched a rock through my living room window this week. Sucks!

 

No room in the garage. I have my woodworking shop in there. The G and saw dust do not mix

 

I had a lawnmower service scratch the rear cover on my 04 X and I called the service and they came and looked at it and wouldn't pay for the damage. Not to metion that they blew grass all down the side of my clear car. The next time I see one of the crew they will get an ear full who mows grass and blows it at cars? D.M.F.ers thats who!!!!!!

 

Sorry to hear about the bad luck, but I'd rather have sawdust than rock chips..
