I have an 05 g35x which I am still in love with. I do have a question for all X owners. My car has about 13k miles on it now, but I noticed something while driving that I never have noticed before.

When briskly accelerating from a dead stop while making a sharp turn (ie. right turn from a stop sign) I have all of a sudden, gotten massive wheel squealing upon accelerating. This never happened until about a week ago, and now I noticed it every dead stop turn I make. I checked my tires and there is a very healthy amount of tread left.

Is this normal? Does this happen to anyone else?
My buddy who has a jeep has this happen to him everytime from a stop due to his differential as he explained it. I didn't know if the same applied to us. Any help would be appriciated!

Shouldn't do that, it almost sounds like your snow mode button is engaged or stuck on.
I would definitely get it checked out to find out what is causing it.

if every thing else seems normal..depending on the tire compound and the summer heat.. that could be a cause also

check the air pressure in the tires also.

I got 11k on my 05 x and I do not have that problem at all. I would say alignment could be an issue as well. I am the only one that drives my car. If you have someone else drive it they could have hit a nice pothole. If it was stuck in snow mode... you would notice the acceleration difference.

That would be my guess.

In a parking lot, I can get the right rear to spin/squeal a bit under half throttle acceleration from a stop while turning. I'm sure that if the tires were worn I could get more than a slight squeal.

Check pressure

Ok I just checked the tire pressures and regulated them all. The front right tire had 1.5psi too much which I let out. Upon leaving the gas station from a stop, I still heard the squeal. I tried it the whole way back to my office and it was still there, so tire pressure is out. But here is the weird thing.

On the way to work today when it was cooler (80F), I tried to repeat what was happening but I couldn't get them to squeal. During my lunch break (car temp gauge telling me 103F) it was back in full force.

I know vegasg35 suggested it might be heat, and it looks like that is what I'm agreeing with for now. I just never knew heat could do that. Anyone else have that problem in intense heat situations?

From what I understand how the system works, if the rear wheels start to slip, it shift power foward. So that's what you could be experiencing.

Because of the shift in power distribution, the front tires will lose traction easier. I think what your experiencing is normal.
