Passenger seat vibrates

I know this opens me up to a lot of jokes, but I am willing to take the serious responses with the funny ones. I have an 05 6mt and when going above 40mph without a passenger I notice the passenger seats vibrates like crazy. It moves so much it constantly hits the seatbelt secured to the pillar. When testing the seat it feels very secure. Any thoughts??

Mine doesn't vibrate. I know this because if it did my wife would be so happy that she wouldn't complain about my driving and would request more road trips...

I had the same problem but with the driver seat, go talk to your dealer they will replace the seat tracks for you under waranty. Its a very typical problem at least thats what they told me.

Interesting. Just how do you drive your car without sitting in the driver's seat?

Snelldogg, the passenger seatback in my G also vibrates around quite a bit. When there's someone in it, the thing is solid. It's kinda funny looking when it really starts rolling; it looks alive and ready to hop out the passenger window. It only happens on certain roads at certain speeds, like an oscillation gets going and sort of sustains itself.

I consider it character, kinda like my squeaky center console. Adds to the individuality of my G.

Is your wheel balance OK? If the seat is really solid it might indicate a slight imbalance detectable only at high speed.

Are you sure I thought mine was rattling for a while but then I figured out it was the seat belt buckle. If the last person in didn't put it back neatly it would rattle against the side pillar

I have had the same problem since day one. At first it would vibrate from the steering wheel, the auto tranny shifter, arm rest and passenger seat. Now mainly from the shifter to the passenger seat. See my thread:

Nothing has been resolved. Frustrating as hell...

Thanks for the responses. As I thought...some funny, some not. Don't quit your day jobs. I will have the seat looked at the next time I bring the car in for misc rattles. As one person suggested, maybe I will have them look at the seat rails.

Thansks,
