Just ordered 20s, will 255/35/20s fit?
I just ordered these wheels last week, 20x8.5 (38mm), AWESOME. They are not available yet, so I left a deposit and they should be coming in 3-6 weeks (estimate). So, I have some time to figure out the tires.
QUESTION:
Can I run the 255/35/20 tires? I have the 350z springs, and tokico d-specs installed, and the 245/35 just looks a little "stretched" on the 8.5s, so i wanted something a little wider and taller. I also plan on cutting the rear fenders (just to be sure) so will these fit?
I'll post of some SICK pictures when the wheels get in (promise). But for now, these are the only pics I can find of the wheels from KMC (this is the 10" deep version, so the lip is bigger than mine will be - still fun to look at!)

With the set up you described you will rub for sure and you'll be running 0.16" higher than if you use the 245/35/20.
I have attached some pics of my car with 20x8.5 +35 offset with 245/35/20. The car is lowered with Eibach pro kit (1.1"), and the pics are from this weekend with 2 adults in the back seat.
As you will see I have approx 1/4" of an inch clearance when loaded heavy. Your set up will bring the wheel/tire further out by exactly 1/4" of an inch. So if you really want that set up, I agree with you and cut the inner lip fenders.

Thanks for the pics CHICO, very nice details. Actually, since your wheels are +35mm, mine should sit IN just a bit more than your (As of my understanding of the wheel offsets... larger number = in more).
So you do have the TOKICOs are well? If so, what settings did you use. Mine are 3.5 turns from hard front, and 4 turns from hard rear. That sound about right?
Thanks

I'm not trying to discourage you from getting your set up. I'm just trying to help you from running into problems. You will need to cut the inner fender lip to accomodate it properly.
As for the Tokicos, no I don't have them installed yet. I'm working on my suspension in stages, 'cause the car is brand new, and also because I want to gauge how each indivicual mod improves the performance vs. OEM.
My next mod is the Stillen Sways that will be done this coming week. Then I'll do the Tokicos. So far so good though with my OEM struts.

I'm trying to do the staged approach as well. I think that the OEM shocks and struts are OK now, but will certainly fade fast. I'm hangin on whether or not to get the sway bars right away while my wheels are on order.
Well, I guess I'll stick to the 245/35/20s for now, just to be safe, and I will go ahead and cut the fenders. If things work out, then maybe I'll run the 255/35s next time (i don't expect the tires to last that long !!!).
Thanks CHICO. Seeing your G on dubs was a big reason for me to go to 20s.

Wheels just came in today and look KILLER. Getting them mounted up tomorrow (Wed) and will have TONS of pics by thursday. Getting a great deal too... rims + tires + swapping out tire sensors for $2168 total. Screaming if you ask me.
Anyways, keep your eyes peeled for updated pics.... I can't wait!

a couple of websites have them, but I bought them locally.
http://www.onlinetires.com had the best deal on wheels and tires. I went with America's Tire because they are local, switched the air pressure sensors, and gave me a screaming deal (got a contact there).
