Just for the folks that might not understand what you're saying. The A4 2.0 T 6mt quattro is likely to be just as fast and have twice the fuel mileage of the 05 G35X. I guess your butt dyno needs to be recalibrated because at a published 0-60 (Audi's statistics) of 7.3 compared to the G35X's 6.5, the G35X is significantly faster - ie much faster. And if you look at my real world gas mileage experience of 16/22 (vs. EPA 18/26), you can expect the A4 to get about 20/26 (vs. EPA 22/31).

I think the A4 is a wonderful car and I'm glad the idea of leasing it makes you happy. But I think if you're going to tell us it's a better choice than the G35X, you say "An Easy Choice", I think you ought to highlight the real differences, not some made-up ones. The only justification for the A4 Quattro to be an easy choice, as you put it, is that it can be had with a 6mt and the G35X can't.

each to his own guys,
we all love our G's but dont get butt hurt if someone thinks another car is better.

I personally think the dash on the audi is far better then the G and i miss seeing my dashboard of my a4 @ night.

Drivewise though.. g35 > a4

Well, the G35X should be much quicker to 60 but it's not. Audi stats are conservative and the G35X are anywhere from 6.2 to 7.2 seconds. R&T says the A4 2.0T Q can run 0-60 in 6.4 . Your numbers suggest a 12% difference and I'll concede that my a$$ couldn't tell the difference.

That's your opinion but there were many factors that made my decision an easy choice. I'm just suggesting that people take test drives before they decide.

The Audi is a great car, beautiful inside and out, and I've always liked it. And you're right, the turbo 2.0 liter is basically just as fast as the 3.5 vq and it probably gets triple the gas mileage, if not quadruple ...

Ciao

Mule65 - you have some points but now it is getting just a touch annoying.

Go to an Audi board now! Ok, you made your choice so move along, there is nothing to see here. I don't go cruise the Sentra boards and tell them how much better the G is.

The Audi is a great car, but everyone has different tastes. We've now heard about yours. Go'way.

Oh but feel free to come back and post once the newlywed glow is over and you understand what picus112 means about turbolag. I know - I switch back and forth from the turbo to the G on a daily basis. Have fun!

Two words: Pink slips.

Bring 'em. Lose 'em.

Come on now, you can't cop out after making a post with this title on a G35 board.
0-60 these cars are going to be close- You can dump the clutch in the 2.0t-
Again, this doesn't account for many other factors.
Like how does it drive- If you like one more than the other, then 0-60 won't mean sh$t.
If you do use 0-60 as a measuring stick, consider the 5-60 as an alternative.
Much better way to gauge an engines true performance, where you can't side-step the clutch at 6 grand.
The G achieves #s in a much different fashion. The G will handle better.
The Audi has a nicer interior and obviously better paint.
Buy the extended bumper to bumper-

Having owned and driven both, the G feels like it has more ***** and handles it's weight very nicely. The Audi has a nicer interior and I like the looks a bit better INMHO. I like the understated look short of the shnoz. I hate chrome wheels and there is a lot of that out here.

I bought the G35x based on driving dynamics- The short geared G35x hits the first three gears pretty hard. The Audi is nearly as heavy, and you will be found wanting for more power on occasion. The chip will improve mid-range and high rpm performance, giving you about 240hp at the engine, once released. It is a tough call, a new G and a new A4 will be released around 2008.

I haven't driven the 2.0l turbo yet, so who knows, maybe the notorious lag vanished - I just wouldn't count on it.
