2005 DG sedan on chrome 20s w/245/35/20 tires

OK, finally my turn to post my wheels on the site (so excited I can hardly stand it!). Thanks to all the other posts that are so helpful and knowledgeable on the wheels, offsets, experiences... I just wouldn't have pulled the trigger without you all. Much thanks!

CAR DETAILS:
2005 Infiniti G35 sedan. Diamond Graphite color. Non sport package, non aero package, non brembo's (i did get a sunroof and leather though )

WHEEL DETAILS:
KMC "Dime" 20x8.5" chrome wheels (38mm offsets). Tires are Nitto 555 245/35/20 (all the way around). Not a staggered setup

STEREO DETAILS:
Alpine amps, Alpine 12" sub, 4080 box, Infinity Kappa mid/highs, stinger wire/cable, and optima yellow-top battery, custom install by me. KICKS A$$!!

DRIVING IMPRESSIONS:
Why aren't you on 20s? Seriously, these things ride just like stock. I'm running 36psi all the way around, and have the 2005 350Z springs installed, and it's a heck of a combo. I LOVE IT! Looking to change out the sway bars to some Stillen's, but nothing for the next few weeks just to see how it feels with the new tires. Car is smooth and has TONS of grip (way more than the 17s w/Goodyears anyways).

The rear fender "looks" like it will rub but it doesn't (i swear). The 38mm offset is PERFECT, without 1/10 an inch to spare! I've already had 250lbs+ in the rear, plus my 100lb stereo install in the trunk on a bumpy road and it doesn't rub at all. It's so close, it really freaks me out to be totally honest (ha!). Everyone's suggestion to run the 39mm was RIGHT ON. Super-BIG-Thanks to everyone for helping with the sizing and offsets... I just love the results, ride, and looks. I just love this site and all the helpful people sharing ideas, thoughts, and experiences. LONG LIVE G35DRIVER.COM!

So? Let's hear what you have to say?!?!?!?!

Thanks bro... I'm not a real big CHROME fan, but learning to like it. I loved the wheel pattern so much I went with chrome just to get them. I'm shooting for the clean, classy look with a little hint of performance. These pics just don't do the car justice... THANKS AGAIN!

I have the same exact car and have a couple of questions...

Is your speedo off because of the big wheel/tire? Does the car feel slower? I hear the weight of the wheels will hurt the performance. Awesome set up by the way...Rims look sweet.

Not really. I've heard the same things, and I'm a strong driver myself, but it's not "really" noticeable. The speedo seems about the same, but from my research it will show 60mph, and I'm actually going 61mph. Honestly, the performance loss, if any, is very minimal, and the looks, handling, feel of the car make up for that loss and then some. I love it.

I had 19s on my 2004 G35 coupe, and it just never looked right to me. Everyone that sees my car reads the little "20" on the tire and steps back and says... "yeah dude, that's sick". People just love 20s, I know I do. If your thinking about it, so it, you'll love it. Hope this helps.

thanks for the info.

Can the speedo of our cars be recalibrated? i know on my truck if i add a bigger wheel/tire combo we can recalibrate the speedo to compensate for the change.

My car has the sport suspension package. Think if i left my springs they'd give me the same feel as the 350Z springs? or are they completely different?

Looking good bro. I am not a big fan of chrome but those complete the car really nice.

Your car as I'm sure you know already, STANDS OUT! That's what it's all about when upgrading wheels.

I agree with the other member that you should get clear corners. It will flow much better with the nice wheels and the chrome trim of the car.

Remember to re-torque your wheels 100 miles later. I recommend around 80 to 85 lbs of torque.

Perfect fit, isn't it?

Well, I also got 20's on my '05 Sedan and I can say that if you're running 1/4 miles all the time and you need every 1/10 of a second.

The answer will be, yes you will be slower. But in practical day to day driving, you will not notice the difference unless the wheels are excessively heavy.

The ride quality will be very similar to OEM wheels. Surprised? So was I when I got my 20's. The only things I watch out for are potholes and curbs.

Joe954rr your rims look similar to the hre441r that I have. Looking at your car makes it obvious that my car needs a drop. Nice clean look. Is there any bouncy/harsh noises in your spring setup? NIce job again
