Also to add, the 350z has a carbon fiber driveshaft.

Lots of autocross time. I usually try NOT to slide, but it inevitably occurs when trying to push for a faster time around the course. The bald OEM Bridgestones really squeeled and made the car tail happy. I brought the end around so hard one time it failed to recover, but didn't fully spin out.. just slid laterally about 50 feet. One of the other local autocrossers calls my car "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride." Some courses, a little drifting helps improve the overall speed, some courses it doesn't.

Maybe it's my super crappy Turanzas, but I'm constantly finding myself punching it around turns and hanging the butt out a bit. Honestly, more often than I should. It's just so much fun. 6 years of driving a higher powered FWD car did it to me If I leave it in 1 and I'm pulling out onto a street and punch it 2/3 throttle, it will light up the tires and hang the butt out a bit. I'm also getting the tail to swing out nicely on faster 2nd gear turns which is more oversteer and not throttle-induced oversteer.

I'm so glad Nissan designed in so much RWD bias. I just wish the 5AT didn't have the turbo-lag sensation from 2500-3500rpms in 1st.

An interesting note, last night I swapped my stock intake pipe back on and drove around for about an hour and she didn't want to hang the tail near as easily

I read this thread yesterday. Ironically, I brought my G35x in for a quick fixup at the dealership, and I got a loaner as they were swamped. A 2004 IP 5AT - non X. It has been raining non stop here in Boston for a week... so roads were nice and slick.

First chance I got, I was tooling around - and man is it easy to get her back side in and out. Does it a will! Course, no luck when I jumped back into my X ... just a completely different car.
