I never said that. Most of the threads are repeats or useless at least in the Sedan forum. However there is some very valuable information and posts as well....just not too many.

This thread started one way, then went to a slightly drama laden direction (not uncommon)... but from I can gather - Gsting you are wanting some justification for doing specific mods... there are posts out here with dyno charts (including mine) and there are posts with race times. Most guys’ mods are listed in their sigs. If you don’t want to mod, just don't. Personally I have been pleased with what I've done - haven't really spent money on anything that I don’t feel has helped. With my current mods my last dyno was 271hp 250tq - last night at LACR best 1/4 mile run was 15.000 (2700 ft above sea level and climate wasn't real favorable). I have an AT sedan - you won’t get those numbers from a stocker.

This post isn't meant to infer anything other than try to satisfy your need for "proof that mods work". If I missed your point, sorry.

I think the new rule should be that you can ONLY post if you're doing something to your car that so far noone else has done. And then only if you've dyno'd and have information to back up your experience, positive or negative. Also, if you're not a domain expert you aren't allowed to post opinion on other people's questions.

...Oh wait... then there'd be like 3 posts.

ok so how about THIS rule: Don't read or participate in the threads that **** you off, and be proactive about making this place pleasant. If you think there's a shortage of something needed (dyno plots is a great example) then start a thread asking to gather them. Contribute. Make posts useful and meaningful. Don't post for the sake of bringing others down. If you feel like posting with the sole reason to tell someone they're a knucklehead, either figure out a constructive way to tell them, or refrain from posting and instead, go outside and punch yourself in the back of the neck.

I agree doogie...Oh wait...then there'd be less than 3 posts.

Frankly I don't think it is sad at all that he was honest and frank enough to say what his opinions were based on. This site is just like any other "media" - you read it and you take the information as you take it. Honestly, if anyone is dumb enough to read one review of something and go spend their money on it I feel sorry for them. To me THAT is sad. You have seemed he11 bent on stirring up something in almost every thread I can recall you posting in (let me clarify that is from memory and not from a formal search). If you or anyone else doesn't find a thread to be useful or find it to be annoying then DON'T READ IT! There are tons of threads on here that I skip right over because I have no interest in them or they have become a flame war that I don't want to deal with. That is sad also because people who don't want to read the flame wars miss the information from the truely knowledgable people who post information in the midst of the flame war.

Cheryl, well said.....

Gting, last I looked, we have nearly 30k members in various walks of life, aged from 14 to 74, varying tastes, needs, and posting abilities...... It's up to everyone to be helpful, patient, and understanding as we tour the site looking for those interesting subjects we want.

As far as backing up mods with proof......that's nice but not always possible or even necessary for some of the more experienced drivers here who can pretty much tell if a mod hurts or hinders with their good old 'butt dyno'. Some of these guys know their stuff man, so give credit where credit is due because they're trying to help us, not be misleading.

It's pointless, too, to post in a thread you don't agree with, don't like, or otherwise have no use for....all it does is fuel a war.

OK, speech over, sorry for the rant, but we really must try to find a way to get along here. With so many members, that's a chore at times.

We hope you can enjoy the site. There is a wealth of information here for all to tap into. Please be patient in your search, I'm confindent you'll find what you're looking for

Colin.

GSM - you are so patient. I would of just said "Look, if you want to be a self-righteous condescending butt wipe - yet again - then move along. There's nothing for you to see here. I'm tired of all the sniping about reposts and 'use the search key' when guys like him should learn to the search key themselves to pilot their way unnoticed through the threads they have no interest in. I am interested in JBX posts.

If you don't like the programming then change the channel - don't just sit there and yell at the TV like Archie Bunker.

big_d...I was thinking the same thing. Sometimes I think people need to be told 'cause they just won't get it any other way.

And sometimes even then......

Of course the other option would be.......to contribute. But, that would require genuine effort instead of just heckling. Personally I love the real info:mindless crap ratio around here. I think you and I are about 50:50 Chico and I'm damn glad to know ya. Oh he!! that goes for almost all of you. GROUP HUG!

Who knows the words to Kumbaya? Anyone?

Thanks big_d...I feel the same way. Did you get my PM a couple of days ago?

Yeah I did Chico. Sorry I meant to mention that and then in my usually self involved way I got what I needed and moved on.
Anyhow I'm running 36 psi and it felt about right but with the ways temps have been fluctuating so wildly day and night around here I was kinda curious if you had one of those rules of thumb. I'm going to be at the shop in the next couple of days and I'll ask my guy how he does that thing with Pythagoras' theorem to work it out. Thanks again.
