Exclamation Wow is all I can say!! My recent posts: summary

[major sarcasm]Go buy a $500 plenum for your car so you can put it in your sig list and that it will "look great" While your at it put 245 tires on a 7" rim just so you can say you have 245's and get a pop charger so your car can lose power but sound like a ricer. Drop the clutch at 3000Krpm so you can burn up your tires and get wheel hop and buy a bimmer so you get a free oil change and wipers. Summary for today on g35driver.com So many lame posts and information on here lately. A few excellent but most ignorant or uselsss without any data to back it up.[/major sarcasm]

As soon as someone critizes a post on here or bad information let alone asks for hard facts like (dynos or track times) they get flamed. A few excellent posters and threads but most are quite lame.

Gtring - get the hell out if you find this forum useless. Why would anyone want to hear you whine like a biitch about what you aren't getting from this forum when you muck it up with your bitter dribble. If you need another dyno to proove the plenum concept works then you paying attention. Even a putz like you can learn without a dyno - just have to read posts from the right folks that contribute objective useful information - unlike the helpful tidbits of placenta schmeg you offer up.

In all seriousness, I hear you. There are some people who know their sh$t, no question-
And then there is a lot of speculation.
Hey, it's easier to sift throught threads here compared to www.thecarlounge.net

It would probably be cool if the FAQ/DIY/ section were a bit more organized.
This is the first place I hung out before I bought my G.
I found a lot of mixed views on everything from offsets to Drivetrain specs on my G.
After a while, as with any forum, you figure out who knows the most pretty quickly.
And it's not me !
A lot of mods people perform on their cars are for fun. Some will make a difference, some won't- I say forget the dyno, just get out to the track and see if the mods make a difference.
If it makes a better sound and you like- Great-=
If it makes more power and you like that- Great-=

I'm just happy there is a resource, where people are so enthusaistic.

Very well put Lip.

Gting, please don't make this like other sites, we don't need that here. I feel no need to go on (SixFive summed up how I feel), and I think you can read my responses in the BMW vs. G35 thread.

I definately agree 100%. It seems that on so many other forums, someone is always stirring up things, and pi$$ing people off...and all it does is create a bad feeling. In fact, this is one of the only sites I have found that has little or none of that...probably due to the fact that there is a higher level of maturity here than on most, at least I hope that's the case. Differences of opinions, and tastes are what makes the world go around. Referring to the posts of others here as lame or useless, or saying that they are ignorant shows a lack of class and character. Your opinions are yours, andnd yours alone and they are respected here, but keep the bitterness and insults to yourself...please.

HARD FACTS????????

Here is one....you're as lame as the post you just put up!!!

This forum is to exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge...good or bad. It is up to the reader and who's seeking the information to back up the claims and to make good sense of what is being said.

If I ran out and bought something everytime I saw someone here did a mod that worked for him, I'd have a garage full of useless parts.

Anybody that has modded a car will tell you that NOT A SINGLE thing will give you the results you're looking for in terms of HP gains, handling, etc. Every bit makes a difference.

The funny thing is, this is coming from someone that has nothing to offer in return. If you haven't done or know anything about what some else has done to their car, how would you know if it works or not?

You prove to us none of the mods make a difference.

Dude. In JBX's post abot the plenum, you started asking him to verify/validate/back-up his mods. Man, let him spend his money on whatever he wants. I put a z-tube on my car. Was I expecting power? Not at all. I was just hoping for a little sound. I just might actually put on a pop-charger as well. Power losses be ******. Sure, I would like to track my car, but as a percentage of overall miles driven, track miles are statistically insignificant. That means that the majority of mods that *I* choose to do to *MY* car will be for return on everyday driving.

But I love how you call into question how helpful this forum, or specific people are. Just this afternoon someone asked about wheel hop. Your first response? Learn to drive. Wow. Insightful. Concise.

Can you be my hero?

Perhaps I might be able to relieve your state of flux. Take 6 Pamprin Maximum Strength tablets and soak in a hot bubble bath.

Enjoyment

I understand what your saying, but you have to realize that people spend money on what they enjoy, my friend spend over 10k all in all on a crazy cruise for something like 9 days.... and what does he have to show for it? A few t-shirts and some cheap key chains... so why spend the money on something that may or may not be worth it to other people? Because he enjoyed it. Everything is like that, you have nothing to show for it when you spend money on theme parks, movies, or video games except enjoyment, but im sure you spend money on THOSE types of things. You seem to love your stock G as much as anyone else loves thier modded ones go drive it and have fun, don't waste your time belittling other people when you could be doing something exciting.
(My spelling sucks hopefully you can take me seriously anyway )

Good lord. You would think it would be nice for others to try mods and report their opinions. You would think it would be nice to have a wide range of enthusiasts trying different things with the cars. You would think it would be good to have some healthy debates about other cars. How boring would this site be if everyone had a stock G35, drove it only to work and back, and never exceeded 30mph. Seriously.

I heard someone put on a Z-pipe today!!!!!!!!!!!

Gting, I'm completely with you and feel the same way. Much of the stuff on this site is pretty lame when it comes to useful content. Unfortunately that's how most car sites are these days. Rarely will you ever read anything other than butt dyno reviews, stuffing 20s under the G, or "spending $500 a y-pipe isn't that expensive", etc. It's like this on nearly every site. Face it, most "car guys" don't really know much about cars.

Gting, JBX isn't going to do dyno runs. If you've read his treads, and I've read them for about a year, you'll get a sense of the guy. He's a motor head and car guy that doesn't give a hoot what others think of his ride but is into the mod scene for what it does for him. He enjoys tinkering with his ride and frankly could care less if you don't agree with his choices.

That said, he likes to be part of this community and share the fun he's having. You rained on his parade and spoiled an otherwise nice thread from a hard working guy that spent some of his hard earned cash on this ride. And you owe him an apology. He doesn't owe you dyno runs or any other evidence of his mod.

JBX, I hope I've been fair and I know you don't need anyone standing up for you but I read your thread and couldn't believe Gting would want to continue it here. Had to say something.

Cale

I know your one of the few posters I respect. Just so much lame stuff with nothing to back it up on this site. There is some qualty stuff as well no doubt but damn that APS plenum thread just set it off. "looks great" and "10rwhp from my butt dyno" comments like that... sad!
