Look a little lost

There's already enough fender gap in a stock G35 sedan. Exacerbating it by going to a smaller OD isn't a good idea IMHO. Your setup doesn't look bad, understand; the tires just look a little small.

When the time comes to replace my OEM 18" Turanzas, I'll be going with a 245/45 tire, possibly the Avon Tech M550. The sidewall will be a little taller to fill the gap somewhat. (I don't need something too aggressive, and all-season capability would be nice.)

I've heard good things about the Proxes though. Good luck! They do look aggressive from behind.

Yep - agree with your take on the fender gap . For some reason though, now that the car sits slightly lower than with the 45s (1" I think) - it doesn't look that bad.

Originally, I was looking for 235/45/18s - but not much choice in this size.
Then, like you, I explored 245/45/18s.
Ended up with 245/40/18s since I really wanted the Proxes-4 and Toyo did not make them available in 245/45/18.

Anyways, thanks for the constructive comments .

Hey JKWright:

Your informative comments/advice mattered - swapped them out today, check-out Sig. - Thanks again! You were right-on. Won't be posting any pics - raining cats/dogs plus no time this weekend.

Hey, let us know how the Conti's work out. Haven't heard exactly glowing reviews, but would am "in the market", so I'd appreciate your driving impressions. Best of luck! -T

Thanks. And Sure - let me put about 3K on them. If I don't post review by end of next month just remind me. First impression - these tire are no Proxes4s/PS2s/P-Zeros - but if they are good enough for original equipment on 911 Carerras - I guess they would be good enough for our Gs .

The proxes-4 are alright, i have an 05 g sedan and i work at firestone, so naturally im kind of biased to the Bridgestones but not for no reason. For all of you worried about the 245/40/18's affecting your speedo, its the closest you can get to the 235/45/18. I have Bridgestone SO-3 pole positions. These tires are absolutely amazing, they are soft but sticky as all hell and look sweet too. On the downside they are a little more expensive than the proxes but they will outperform them by far. Same with the conti's, Conti's are a little too expensive for what you get out of them. Just my opinion
