Cerritos Infinti refused to fix rattles
Hello,
I've been trying to fix the rattles that has infested my sedan. This morning, I took my car in Cerritos Infiniti to repair the rattles on appointment and to my suprise the service woman told me their service manager doesn't want to fix my rattles anymore. They recommend me to call Inifniti customer affair. And I did, I don't know if Cerritos is a friend of this customer affiar lady, but she's telling me to take my car to another dealer for "second opinion" because Cerritos felt they have done their best to fix my problem. Obviously not, I've been there 4 times and nothing is fix. It's this attitude that got me mad, I'm not recommending Cerritos Initiniti to anyone, I've called Peyton Infiniti in Torrance and hope they can fix the problem. Does anyone know a Infiniti dealer in S. Bay Area that has experience in fixing rattles/squeak problems? Has anyone experienced this? I am feeling Infiniti is ignoring the rattles problems and telling their customer to live with it.
Thanks,

Unfortunately, no matter the manufacturer you face the same issues with Customer Satisfaction due to the Franchise Laws. Each dealership is an INDEPENDENT business reselling a product and as such can basically do what they want while holding the manufacturer and consumer hostage.
This is why Toyota is looking at ways to get around their historically bad Customer Satisfaction ratings by having more say in their new Brands.
My family have always bought and owned numerous Toyotas and they have been Very reliable and problem free. But I have always said that if it was not for this Toyota would not sell a single car. They have made their money and fortune by building reliable and quality cars. I would have bought another Toyota instead of the "G", if it was not for the fact that Toyota cars now are boring and overpriced.
So after being on my soap box. It comes down to the Dealership and the people there to get good Customer Satisfaction. So look for and find a GOOD dealer and when you do let everyone know so they don't give the bad ones any business and maybe they will go away.

Part of the problem with the system is that a dealer must get paid for warantee repairs by the manufacturer. He needs to be able to "sell" the repair to the manufacturer. Sometimes when it is a hard-to-diagnose problem, it is hard, if not impossible to make this kind of sale.
I have had personal experiences where a dealer's service manager agreed I had a vibration problem in a vehicle, but he couldn't make the "sale" to the factory service rep. The problem was with the front driveshaft, and it had been replaced several times already. I ultimately had to fix the problem myself.
Try another dealership. If that dosn't work, generally the factory service reps visit the dealerships on a regular basis. Make an appointment to take the rep for a test drive, and see if you can display the rattles. If the rep hears them, they will generally instruct the dealer to do what's necessary to make the fix.
Also there have been posts on freshalloy.com on how to fix the door rattles. Here's the link:

These are great, and go to more extremes than the dealer is likey to go to, even if they attempt a fix in this area. So if the rattle is coming from the doors, I'd fix it yourself and be done with it. You can probably do both doors yourself in less than an hour, and have ZERO hassles.

Thanks for the link,
I knew about that post, but never perform the fix because I am afraid I might screw up then the dealer will use that apportunity to point finger at me and blame me for the rattles.

This is suprising. The Dealers seem to be so hell bent on getting "excellent" ratings on the follow up surveys. I was not happy with my first service visit, so when I got the follow-up survey in the mail, I let them have it! I'm waiting to see the response, if any.
Re: Cerritos Infinti refused to fix rattles
Wow bummin to hear about this issue with rattles in your car. I had my left side bass and bump induced rattle fixed with an insert that they have a TSB for.
if you dont want to break the door down yourself, see if you can take a walk back to the garage next time you are there and get the guy actually working on your car's attention for 2 mins. Explain everything in detail and jesus, if the thing aint fixed then someone at corp level should be involved. If a 35k car is rattling to death and the dealer hasn't offered to @&$# YOUR %, and bend over backwards then the regional infiniti managers would want to know. They do want a great survey and those guys get bonuses to make it happen.

I just got mine back from the Montclair dealer, they have been great so far and eliminated the left door rattle, but the right door got worse! I've made another appointment for later this month. We'll see what happens. BTW they also repaired the rattle that was coming from the center dash area that housed the clock, but now I hear a rattle in the back too.

Re: Cerritos Infinti refused to fix rattles
one of my friend is a mechanic in Honda. He told me the last thing he wants is customers bring in their cars and complain about rattles. he said it's almost impossible to eliminate them. Due to many factors, one of them could be the weather. Sometimes I do feel sorry for them... But then again... I paid $50,00(CDN) for a car and i don't expect to have this many rattles in it!!!

Re: Cerritos Infinti refused to fix rattles
Hey guys, there is a door rattle elimination method posted
on this board that actually works! I did all 4 doors last weekend
and all rattles are gone. The procedure is very easy. When I
took the drivers door off, I saw the dealers fix of wrapping the
2 wires from the door handle with foam. The problem is they
only wrapped a small area with foam, not the entire exposed
wire. Completing that job is part of the fix. There are several
other places where loose speaker wire/connections just lay
against the door and buzz/rattle etc. Just add the foam adhesive
and it disappears. Best thing is you don't have to give your car up
for a day while some Goons paw your car!
