Hot under steering column?

hey guys, i just got my G35x and i'm trying to break it in. i've noticed that my car gets really hot by my legs under the steering column. does your cars do the same? i've tried to look to see if anything was posted about this but i couldn't find any. any type of information would be greatly appreciated. oh and how many miles are you guys getting to the gallon? gas is so expensive and i'm only getting around 15 miles to the gallon and i'm not even trying to rev it, just break it in under slow/normal driving!!

I happened to notice this as well (non-X G35) when I first got it. Worried me a first, but it seems to be gone as I haven't had a thought about it for a while. I'm not sure what it was.

I have noticed this as well. Since the engine is set back in the chassis (so-called "mid front" configuration) you are sitting next to that large heat sink of an engine. I attribute the warmth to be a result of your proximity to the heat source. Have thought about, but never tried, diverting some of the A/C to the floor vents to remedy.

I have a G35x and have the same problem. I notice it when driving in warm temperatures without the a/c on. With the a/c on, I don't have the problem.

I definitely spoke too soon! I think this was my case as well...the Chicagoland area has been so hot (about 90-100 degrees), that I always had the A/C on. This week has been pretty cool...cool enough that I only had my sunroof open, and yes, I definitely felt this warm feeling. It's kind of uncomfortable...almost as if the heater is on.

Good thing my wife drives the car primarily; she likes the heat.

I have the same problem in my car. I had been thinking maybe it's the kind of leather seat that makes my back and thighs always sweaty (even with A/C on).

Yeah i get the heat up on my legs too when i dont have the ac on. But i dont really mind.. when i first got it thou it was like really bad, prob cuz i was breakin it in. But just think of it as an extra heater that will help keep u warm in the winter! ;D!
