prob getting a salvage g35
prob getting a salvage g35
I know, but I cant afford a new one and this is going to be a steal or I am not going to get it. Question is for sites to get best parts for it? Only need stuff in front of engine. and is anyone upgrading their headlights, or do I just have to break down and buy the OEM ones from a dealer? Any advice is welcome. I have a mechanic friend to help with the work, but he has not clue on parts for this car, mostly does non-luxury types. Gonna press him into service for the major stuff and have the minor or pretty stuff done at the more expensive shops as finishing touches.
Try Ebay they seem to have some things for G35, I saw the whole airbag kit for sale on Ebay couple of days ago, but don't know what happened to it. Also try going to junkyards. There are some websites that sell OEM parts for wholesale you can check them out.
Good luck with fixing it up.

ITS NOT WORTH IT!!
i know someone who bought a damaged 04 black g35 at an auction for 14,000 and had to pay 15,000 for repairs He eneded up paying 29,000. Thats almost MSRP plus he had to pay everything cash! G35s are to expensive to fix and parts are really expensive ... better off leasing

yeah, it would be an e-bay g35 or at least from one of the salvage companies that often sell on e-bay. I am not going to pay over 11k for it and I have a mechanic friend who can almost everything but frame work. Looking for one with under 8k of work to be done on it...hoping to end up with a 2k5 for like 14-18k total...then supercharge it...who knows. As for lease, it is so expensive and then you have nothing to show for it at the end. Thanks for the ideas and input so far though.

Nirvana4all --> the only thing you need to know is www.pinnacleinfiniti.org & www.infiniticarparts.com . Pinnacle is by far the CHEAPEST and BEST service you will find anywhere. Of course, they only sell new OEM parts, so any used stuff you find on ebay should still beat them, but not always...i've seen Pinnacle Infiniti beat prices on Ebay and your getting brand new with warranty. Good luck man.
This car could be a good investment for you, but you should seriously price all the parts before buying the car and know how much your friend will charge as well as frame and paint shop. Another good resource to buy parts is www.car-part.com also www.autopartspeople.com. I rebuilt my own 2003 sedan last year myself, parts are very expensive, even used. I spent about 4,000 alone in parts not including air bags. good luck!
It won't cost him that much. My dad is a body man so for my friend he bought a wrecked and fixed it up very good with only 11000 miles on the car. Guess how much it costed, $13000 for us and we gave it to my friend for $15000. On blue book the price is $20000.
He also knows alot of people who have junkyards, so it was a bit easier for him to get the parts. No problems till this day. My friend even raced a few of g35s that had pink title and won. So you can't say it will give him problems or the car won't be that fast or whatever.
If I knew it would cost only $13000 I would've bought it.
