I am pretty sure the 4dr has the 3.5l v6 as well. Its badged with the 350gt badge which is the 3.5

Well, the newest (3rd generation) TL is not available in JDM, but it is a badge engineered Honda Inspire (Accord). Previous generation TLs are branded Saber in JDM. Since the JDM Inspire/Saber comes in a Type-S package, I just figured that would be the case. (I wrote Type-R before - sorry.)

Yes it is - this we all know. What's I did not know the JDM Skyline was so identical to the the American G. When I think of a Skyline, I always think of this - http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/z3n/bluer34gtr.jpg

The whole Acura, Infiniti, Lexus idea is just a very smart marketing move by Honda, Nissan, Toyota to sell existing (most of them, anyway) models in the U.S. for a slightly higher profit margin. For the consumers, they're getting their dollars worth in better service, longer warranties, and the all-so-important "status symbol".

At least this is better than the Lincoln buyer who looks down on Ford owners, huh? ^-^
(edited this part to be clearer) But in the American market, there is a difference. If there wasn't, you'd be driving an STI. And I am not looking down on anyone - the STI is an awesome car but I wanted the luxury (not the Infiniti image per se, but the luxury that comes with it) AND the performance...and while I appreciate the "better brands" that has nothing to do with how I feel about the owner.

I just find it curious that this is the only make and model car that I have seen where owners will badge the car in a way that can be interpreted as going "down-market" (Infiniti -> Nissan). I work in advertising and I have never seen this before. This was not intended as flame-bait or insulting - just wanted to understand more.

So now I know that the JDM model is what you are going for and I see that makes sense. Thanks for clarifying and sorry if anyone took this the wrong way!

Topher...

No offense taken. I think perhaps I worded my own response in the wrong tone.

Anyways, yeah...whatever TwiBlueG said (I was just goin for the Japanese spec look/theme)

I know what you're talking about though, how it can be interpreted as going down-market. But in a weird way, I think thats actually part of the point. Well, not really going down-market, but more like back to "the roots"...LOL

Enjoy the Ride! ^-^

I don't plan to rebadge, but I'm guessing that the statement being made by rebadging from Infiniti to Nissan is "I'm not driving this car because it's a status symbol, I'm driving it because it kicks a**!"

By the way, what is "JDM?" Japan Domestic Market?

Now that makes perfect sense - well put.

Can someone please tell me where I can get the Skyline emblem for my 05 Sedan? This was my initial question and it has yet to be answered. I have checked almost all the vendor sites and none have it...
