Rough downshifting from 5 to 4

Lately I have been noticing that the 5AT has been giving a slight shudder when downshifting. I thought it must be normal, but just last week I felt a real rough one (downshift) when you press the gas pedel slightly and it goes down a gear. I know if I take it in, that they won't find a problem, because it happens so rarely. Has anyone else experience something similar?

Re: Rough downshifting from 5 to 4

I haven't had any rough shifting, but then there's only 3500 miles on my Coupe yet. But if I were you, I'd be inclined to check the tranny fluid level and colour. When things start to go wrong in the A/T, it'll show in the colour, smell, and level of the fluid.
Trouble is Infiniti (in all their wisdom) saw fit to make that task difficult, necessitating removing a 10mm hold down bolt first.
If you've got the facilities and the necessary tools, this could be helpful. If you don't , let the dealership do it.

Thanks gsedanman. I am taking my car in for the brake switch recall next week and I will have Dealer "check it out". It's just too darn hot and humid out there lately to do anything outside.

Re: Rough downshifting from 5 to 4 (update)

Well, took in my G into Alta Infiniti (Woodbridge) today and complained about the downshifting problem. They told me it was not the tranny but my four rotors were worped!?!?! I have 21,650 kms (mostly highway). Oh, they also said that the warranty was over at 20,000 kms so I am SOL and have to pay for turning the rear rotors and replace the front rotors at only 21,650 kms! What the %$#@! The brakes feel great still, no vibrations or pulsations. I think they were fishing for a fish. I disappointed them there and left with just the brake switch recall done. Comments anyone? Is everybody's brakes going early?
