Auto Trans fluid

I just got of the phone with the dealer and they said that the 03 G's trans fluid is for life. I don't need to change it? I am assuming that is ridiculous? Maybe I should stop taking my G there? I have 45K miles on it. Any ideas.

I would change it. I talked to like 2 different dealerships and they all told me different stories. One said to do it when I hit 60k, the other dealer told me never to change it and the dealer told me to change it every 30k. I actually changed mine around the same mileage you had.

I would change it as well;
Just make sure you use the Nissan fluid, it's specially formulated for our AT.
& can void the warranty if you use something else.

According to Infiniti's recommended service interval guide, you don't have to change it unless you are towing loads or operating in muddy, dirty conditions, etc, when it is recommended that you change it at every 30K. It is suggested that it be inspected, which can be done by looking at it against a white background to make sure it has not become discolored or less transparent. That said, it almost certainly loses viscosity over time and it couldn't hurt to change it after 30K as long as the person doing it doesn't over or underfill it.

From what I understand about our rides and the A/T fluid, a change at 30k - 40k miles is a great investment since it will degrade over time, accumulate debris, and require a filter change along with fresh fluid.

I would say that your dealer is sadly mistaken and very misleading.

I think some dealers would rather do repair work later, than an oil change now.

Yeah I am going to change it. I called another they said every 30K. I am going to have the dealer do it for record.

I think it sucks that one dealer charges more for one service that other. They should be like best buy anywhere you go same price!
