I have a new 2005 g35x and I am ready to replace the Turanza EL42 stock tires. A tire retailer here said that changing the stock tires to a different size tire even with the same overall diameter will cause the warning light to stay on. Is this true?

It will still work unless he doesn't put the tps sensors back in the wheels, or you are running less pressure than the stock tires.

It does seem to act up with my aftermarket 19's. However it only kicks in on road trips after about 60miles of driving. Not sure why. I check the psi on all 4 and they are equal

Definately not true. I changed from 234/45 to 245/40 no problems. You shouldnt have a problem no matter what size you put on. The tire retailer you talked to didnt know what he was talkin about just jerkin your chain.

Same here - I had the dealer switch the junk Turrenza's for Michelin Pilot MXM4 P225 50r 17's on my 2005 G35x - no problems. I did get $60.00/piece credit from the dealer, so I was happy about that.

I have a set of 19" wheels and my low tire pressure light only comes on after about an hour of driving. Once I shut my car off the light goes away.

I have the stock sport package 18's on my 2005, and any time I take it on the highway for more than about 30 miles, the light goes on. Dealer said it was because the tires were too close to the 29 psi threshold (they showed 32psi), but why only on the highway? That is when they warm up, and the pressure goes up, not down. Anyone have an idea as to what's going on?

If you remove the wheels with pressure sensors the light comes on after approx. 60 kms. (Canada) So it seems the system is innactive.
