2005 G35x - click noise when breaking

I believe it has to do with the brake assist feature - we do have a brake assist feature right?
if I am sitting in my car, in the garage, in my pj's fantasizing just before bed, and I happen to tap the brake pedal I also hear a click - it's a single click noise heard almost immediately upon touching the pedal.
my 2 cents

That’s the noise - kind of aggravating actually for I've never had another car that did that, and the fact that this car has an obscene amount of other snaps/creaks/rattles to boot - at 800 mi no less.
I've come to the conclusion that perhaps Infiniti may have sub-contracted GM for the interior assembly/parts

I empathize with your concern.
At two months old and only ~1050 miles on mine I hear a few buzzeeez and clicking noises too - and I am breaking her in very very gently. Slow over the bumps!
Heck my 99 maxima with 115K miles on it has less rattles - and it's not just because I am used to it.
But I am confident that I made the right decision getting a G35.
So we've all got the brake pedal click - would be great for a veteran experienced G35 driver to chime in and let us know what that noise is.
mine is a 6spd - so I doubt that it's the tranny lockout - but I could be wrong.
Perhaps if it is indeed the brake assist feature as I suspect - then that click could actually be peace of mind.

Hi,
I just got a new G35 (got about 100 mi), and I noticed the click too. Did yours go away after "break in" period?
To me it sounds like an electrical switch is being turned on for something...
I hope it goes away, because I drive in stop-and-go traffic a lot, and the clicking can get pretty annoying.

Actually this was a valid concern that I made the dealer fix - it was a little solenoid switch that is used as a relay to the break lights. This is/was not the shift interlock noise as this noise originates from the shifter area.
Dealer was giving me a hard time about it, but when I told them that the car sits here until it's fixed, amazing how cooperative they became.

I just noticed yesterday, with car in "park" in the garage, applying the brakes results in a continuous "clicking" noise, that stops as soon as brake pedal released.
This is just another odd noise in a long list (that continues to grow). Ironically, the earlier post that suggests that GM may have been involved in the assembly of this car, is something I was thinking about while driving to work today.
BTW, I have an 04x with 24k miles
