I noticed a couple of weeks ago that all 4 four of my tire valve stem cover caps were gone. I got a loaner car yesterday and figured it was OK to "borrow" the car's caps and lo and behold the loaner was missing 3 of them. When I returned the car, I checked out some other loaner cars in the lot and most of them were missing at least one cap. I guess I will break down and spend the $10 or so and get some. Not a big deal but still annoying that someone ripped my caps off. Other than aesthetically, any downside to missing caps? Who else is missing caps?

Good thing you didn't have Volks (Rays) because in order to get replacement caps, you need to purchase new valve stems.

 

10$ for valve stem caps? They cost less than 2 bucks Canadian for the chrome-look ones here at the local store.

BTW usually its kids who steal them for their bicycles.

You know when I was younger it would have been worth bending over to steal a .25 cap...but nowadays, I would pay a quarter to have someone tie my shoes...I'm 33 BTW...

I have had my fair share of buying valve caps. It sucks. I think I bought 4 sets already. For different cars though. On my G though ALL of them were missing. LOL

My civic has a set of SSR rims on and I have them stolen about 4 times. Got so sick of it that I just put the $.99 plastic ones on.

I remember when I was a kid we use to take them for our bicycles that was 30 yrs ago.. I remember me and other kids growing up use to compare caps lol

And oh yeah we were only 5, we didnt think it was a big deal then. But then again we only thought cars were cars..

 

People likely steal them because they were dumb and lost theirs while they were filling up their tires with air.

Same here, some times we even took the hood ornament (that was dumb, but we were like 7 or 8)
