i just got a new 2005 sedan and whenever i turn it on and hit the gas i get a grinding noise coming from the front. it usually last for a second and then the car drives fine afterwards.

I called infiniti and they said that its normal and that the ABS pump is purging thus the noticalbe noise. I was wondering if this is normal and do you guys get this? thanks

 

Funny, my 05 just did that for the first time today...couldn't tell ya if its normal, but I can tell ya my car did it too.

 

Yes it is normal. It happens every time you start the car when you put it into drive. As soon as you reach 7 mph or something like that you will hear the sound. Sounds like a spring or something.

 

Yes, I would say it's normal. But it's more of a clunk than a grind. See pg 5-26 of your manual.

I did the exact same thing. Called my dealership and was like WTF!!

They said same thing, ABS pump purging. I have an '05, and was given an '05 loaner and it did the same thing.

 

^^^ ABS testing itself. every G does that once it hits 7mph first time after starting engine. don't worry.

 

Too funny, I was going to post that question but wasnt quite sure how to verbalize the sound, I have an 03 and hear the same thing, glad to know that it is something "normal"

yeah i notice that too. also my 99 g20t i had before my 35 did the same thing too.
