On way home from epping was following a mustang for about 2 miles and he decides to pull over to the next lane. and started to slow down. you know what that means. slowed down to about 40. once i heard him get on it. i floored it and we were neck to neck all the way to 145. our mirrors were side by side. we both had 3 people in our cars.gave each other the thumbs up and just kept on cruising along again. good sport! i was damn surprised i could keep with him. it had all saleen parts, wing and wheels with the saleen side stripes. i thought he would have handed my *** to me. i guess not. all i have is Ztube and stillen box.
80 - 145 dead even. we both had 3 people in our cars. i mean we were neck in neck all the way through the gears. gave each other thumbs ups and continued to drive along like before.

80KM roll, i let him go ahead, then i dunno if he let off or not, but i easily blew pass him after 140km/h
i only know he could not pull away at all, since i let him go first and see if he is gonna floor it or not before i start following

 

good job, you just beat the V6 stang with like 70 less HP than you. A GT would rock you - they run mid 13's stock. They would give my GTO a little competition when I was stock (13.5 at 103mph A4, stock tires - LS1) , but I would still beat them stock. Now I am in the 12's with the goat, so no troubles unless the mustang is the supercharged 03-04 cobra's. I would not run new GT with any G35 and expect to win.....well, I shouldnt say that because people on here ALL THE TIME think they can beat cars such as the GTO, mustang v8's, S4's, M3's, STI's, EVO's with the G35. That will never happen if skilled drivers were driving the other cars. All you are beating is the driver in most cases. All of the listed cars, and many others are faster cars than the G35, from a roll or a stop. The fact is is that most drivers suck and cant/wont drive their cars to the limit, then they lose to someone who is driving their car to the limit and make the other person think they can beat that car. Then the [I]winner brags on the G35 forum that everyone can now beat this certain car with the G35. The G35 is not a fast car... it is just faster than maybe 60% of cars made. The other 40% or so are just as fast (mid 14's) or faster.

 

the mustang GT is not that great of car. I have a friend that has one and we race at least twice a week just for fun. and he never just smokes me. I win sometimes he wins sometimes. it is always very very close.

 

I saw both a V6 mustang and a V6 firebird today and both times I thought to myself I bet that guy would be owned...don't know why I even thought it, I don't really care, I guess those guys just looked like they thought their cars were cool or something.

A 2004 Mustang GT with an automatic is an EQUAL race with
a 2004 G35x

Both run to 60 in the mid 6's and probably post very similiar
1/4 times as well.
The 2004 and older Mustang GT's with the auto really saps alot
of it's power and it doesn't have as much of a top end for a V8...again
especially the auto tranny.

The 2005 Mustang GT autos are a different story.
They are geared really well and are nearly as fast
as the manual's in the first 3 gears.

 

OMG. What a idiot you are. A 04 GT Mustang runs mid to low 14s not 13s stock. I beat them ALL THE TIME. They dyno less hp than our cars too. 260 hp to the flywheel, but about 220 to the crank if that.

only backed off because of skinny 17" factories. if i had better tires i would have kept it until rev limit. Rustangs are slow i beat them at the track with my 14.8 times. all this was done in the boon ducks.

 

A bit off the mustang vs. G35topic, but someone mentioned the GTO. Well I the other day I was leaving work, and stopped to make a turn. I looked up in my rearview, and saw what I thought to look like liek a grand am all up in my ***. Well I made my turn, and looked up again in my rearview, only to see this a$$hole all up in my *** again! So I figured he wanted toplay so I floored it and looked up in my rearview again expecting to see him falling back, BUT HE WAS STILL ON MY ***! He then pulled over to the next lane, got on it some more, and proceeded to pull away form me! I could not gain on him and he kept pulling away. As he got infront of, I was confused and looked at the emblems to see what it was. Turned out to be a GTO 6.0. Had not seen one yet. Looked up the specs when I got home, and said "no wonder why!" V8 400hp on that little car, DAMN! Any one else have a run in with one of these yet?

 

I would think that the G35 is faster than much more than 60% of the cars out there, not even factoring in trucks.

Even if you count just the cars in the given year that the given G35 was produced.

There are a LOT more Civics sold in the US in any given year than G35s.

I'm not someone who will risk racing people, nor want speeding tickets, so if someone were to decide to race me they would probably think my car is slow.

However, I do like the fact that the car does have power if needed. Such as when passing, or merging into a freeway.

 

GTO's are fast , but wait till the skyline come here. we'll see how much fun it will have against the vette and viper.
wait till the guy tries to sell the GTO and he will be surprised that it will be worthless. no resale value what so ever on american cars. thats why so much discount on them.
