I too drove the IS350 and 330i yesterday (Taste of Lexus, Atlanta). I remember the 330i requiring much more heft than the IS350, but did not remember it being substantially lighter than the G. The IS350 steering effort reminded me of my brother's 79 Buick Regal. Way overboosted.

Maybe the steering wheel was more telescoped to your chest in these cars than in your G, giving you better leverage?

Personally, I don't like a lightweight feel in the steering. It makes me feel disconnected with the car. I actually think our G's have an almost perfect balance in that department........
I agree, the tighter and stiffer feeling is much better than the loosey goosey super power assisted caddilac steering.

Well,

I do like a stiffer feel on the steering wheel. But what I like about BMW's and Audi's is they are stiff, but not too stiff, and give a good amount of road feel.

My G Sedan stock was stiff, but it felt numb and disconnected to me. But since dropping it on Eibachs it feels MUCH better. It actually feels more connected to the road, and even a little less stiff actually. Just need some rims to complete the handling department.

Agree 100%. Audi, despite all their faults, have nearly perfected steering feel and road feedback. BMW, well, that goes without saying. I picked the G largely because of all the Japanese sports-sedans, the steering feel is most like the German cars.

Yea, I'm with you Picus.

The Germans are still ahead of the Japanese in many respects such as "road-feel" on their cars. But I decided against the BMW 3 because of price and the fact that they are so played out. The G was truly a breath of fresh air, the price and performance was great.

Audi is a cool company but not for me, IMO they are extremely unreliable and too close to VW.

I hear some tokico D-spec shocks on the G make it feel "330-ish". Giving it much more of a firm and responsive ride, but still remaining comfortable...unlike coilovers.

German "road-feel" is overrated in the grand scheme of things. The only German companies with better road feel is BMW and Porsche and they are renouned in this area. Audi has okay road feel but I still think the G35 is better in this respect (and so do many other comparos). VW...uh...no. Mercedes also doesn't have great roadfeel on their lower end cars. Besides BMW, the G35 probably as the best road feel in the class.

Seriously: Do you have the sport suspension. I do and I like the firmness of the steering.

Not so Seriously: Try this mod--(pic.1)steering wheel ****. Or mod your body to be stronger to turn the wheel(pic. 2).....If you have trouble reading pic 3, you are well on your way.

Has anyone else noticed that the steering wheel in the 2006 G35 Sedan is not centered to the driver's seat? The steering wheel is at least an inch to the left of the center of the seat. This is a terrible oversight for Infiniti and make the car very uncomfortable to drive.
