DUal exhaust is needed. the G35 IS NOT AN ALTIMA. IT IS SIMILAR TO FX AND BOTH ARE MADE ON SAME PLATFORM

Check out the late model Pontiac GTO's exhaust system. It's a true dual system.
Two pipes off the back bumper is just for show on 99% of the cars out there.

Don't worry I'm just kiddin RRREEELLLAAAXXX.

Take Diesels for example... single 4" exhaust will eficiently extract over 1000 hp and 1000lbs ft of torque.
keeping in mind that too large of an exhaust diameter, which includes duals, can rob you of your bottom end torque..

ok. that was little too techy for me. But infiniti has designed the car this way for a reason. I am sure it has lot to do with the hp rating.

Some current cars with TRUE dual exhausts: 04 GTO(both pipes go to one side though), 05 GTO, Mustang GT, all Mercedes, Lincoln LS, some grand marquis and crown vics with dual exhaust option, corvette, cts-v, M5, M6, audi v6, v8 and w12, VW pheaton v8 and w12, along with all the exotics come to mind
