Good that you're okay.
That car looks pretty bad to me however doesn't look at all like a 45mph rear impact. My guess is more like half that speed.
The damage appears extensive enough to be a possible candidate for a write off. As others have be careful what shop you use for the estimates and get the dimished value settlement if no write off happens.

If they don't total it, I will definately be pushing for a diminished value settlement.
