My brake pedal has about an inch of lateral play in it. I can use my foot or my hands and wiggle it easily from side to side. It really doesn't seem right but the dealer inspected it and claimed it is ok. Does anyone else notice this? It's a 2003.5 5AT Sedan, with 3K miles.

Molly, My Coupe b/pedal has about 1/4" play, and my Sedan had about the same.
Sounds like there's too much play on yours. I'd get another opinion at another dealership. G/L
