G35 vs I35

Re: G35 vs I35
I just got an I35 as a loaner for my coupe today. It felt nice, but nothing like the coupe. My coupe just hugs the road, and I feel like a I have a lot more control. Also, the seats are a lot nicer in the coupe. I have to admit that the I35 felt powerful. At some point I was going 110, and didn't even notice how quick I got it up there. Overall a nice car. I was wishing to get a G35 sedan to compare my coupe to, but I didn't get lucky.
Just my two cents as a coupe owner.
G35 Coupe. Diamond Graphite, Graphite, Premium and wheel and Tire package. Zaino Baby.

Re: G35 vs I35
Ahhh.. the beauty of opinion!
I figured I should chime in because everyone else has done so.
Why do I think my opinion is worthwhile? I own an '02 I35, I had a G35 sedan for 2 weeks, a G35 coupe for a month, and the famous LOANER I35's.
First and foremost, the Loaner I35's are rediculous. They lack any of the options that the I35 needs to be a competitive car. (Sports package, winter package, sun package, navigation package, and rims package)
PLEASE DO NOT compare the loaner I35 to what some of us I35 owners bought.
There is no question which car drives better. (Performance wise) The G35 sedan and coupe out handle the I35 with simplicity. There is also no questioning which car sounds better as it acclerates.
First, a large misconception. I do not remember what the G35 weighs, but my I35 weighed 3300 almost even at my buddies body shop. (Add me and you got 3485) That is not too heavy in my book. And from what I think I recall, lighter than the coupe.
As for straight line performance. (I never listen to the magazines) The nasty torque steer requires some experience to launch. I raced a friends bone stock G35 coupe 6 spd. dozens of times on the highway. (Eliminating the nasty launch) He pulled from the 60-120 we ran by about 3-4 car lenghts. Not too shabby in my book, but also not the blowout some people talk about. My only launch experiences are against a friends Regal GS with 3.4 pulley and DHP computer. He runs 14.4@97. We run 0-60 with him ahead by a fender. So again, the car is capable if driven right.
My biggest complaint about the I35 would definitely be the floatyness of the suspension. I lowered her and it made a difference, but it definitely does not handle like the G. Hands down, the G wins the handling game with ease.
Now why didn't I purchase the G35c? First, the interior. I spend more time on the inside of a car and really didnt like the interior of the G. Of course that is all personal preference, but I found the I35 to be much more luxurious than the G. Secondly, RWD in the chicago winters didnt mesh well with me. I was getting rid of my Grand Cherokee so I decided I'd rather deal with FWD rather than RWD. Last but not least, the I35 I bought with the packages and upgrades was a few and far between car. I see G35 coupes EVERYWHERE. They are not a dime a dozen, but they are becoming a handful a dozen.
The I35 can be made to be an old farts car. Leave the suspension floaty, dont upgrade the nasty rims, dont get the sports package, and dont floor the car. Other than those things, the car is very capable.
Unlike the G, it does need to have some things done after purchasing to make it more "youthful." (i.e. tints, lowering.)
