dude all you need to do is remove the plastic fenderwall lining on the inside of the wheel well.

All the lights are accessible through there.

Actually my 194/168 PIAA 4500k TERA lights that I am using to replace the ugly clearance bulbs got shipped today

You don't need to remove it (not the whole thing). Easiest way is posted in thread #14 above.

Arg I wish I read this thread earlier. I gave up after spending 45minutes trying to figure out where the clearance bulb actually was. Even with the wheel and wheel liner removed I couldn't really figure out or see clearly where the back of the light was. I did see that tab that was mentioned, I and could feel it but didn't try to twist it. Now everything is back on, with the LEDs still in the bag them shipped in. Who ever designed this headlight assembly needs to be shot, are there any other cars that make it so difficult to change out the light blubs > . Maybe will try again another day.

Yeah, I was dumbfounded when I changed the clearance lights too. This goofy plastic "extension" that essentially is the handle to the socket of the bulbs has to turn about 60-80 degrees to unlock the socket. I thought it was some kind of structural rib when I was looking at it. After checking the service manual again I took the thing apart and changed 'em.

Good luck!

Rick

Bigwilly - that's exactly what happened to me. But now that you know the exact procedure...honestly, it'll take you 10-15 min. per side!

NOt sure if the '05's and up have them. It's a white/dim light bulb that only is on when you put on your parking lights. It is just to the side of the bulb of the xenon headlight. WHen I had an '06 loaner last week, they do not have clearance lights at all (seemed odd...never knew they did away w/ them....I like them).....the orange turn signal on the '06 goes on when the parking lights are on...not sure about the '05's. You follow?

The 05 does not have the clearance bulb that the 03/04 have though I wish it did. Talk about reviving a thread back from the dead eh Jim

I'm looking to replace my reverse lights with some LEDs as well Jim. I'll take pictures as soon as I do and I'll email em to you and then you can judge for yourself if you want them as well. As for the HKS exhaust....still waitin for the funds. I'm in the process of negotiating for a TREK mountain bike as we speak and funds keep flyin out the window

How are you going to get LED's bright enough that light up the rear area of the car enough? Just doesn't seem like it'll work?..... Good luck!

I'm hoping the light output is respectable since the bulb has 9 LEDs per bulb. If light output sucks, I'll just stick them onto my sister's car

hey guys, has anyone experienced that problem with LED lights where the car thinks there's no bulb in the socket and so it doesn't blink or hyper-blinks?? just wondering cuz i've read a few threads that some people complained about LED lights in the parking light. also, u guys think these would look good??

Sometimes that has to do with the quality of the bulb & the metal connectors on the bulb being too flat.... When I first installed my LED bulb in my rear license plate, it didn't light up. I pulled it out, then bent back the metal connectors so they stuck out more, popped it back in & bam....it lit up.

Just a suggestion to try that. Let me know if that's the fix.
