Talking And the mods begin!!

Well after debating back and forth on whether to buy all the mods before I move to Hawaii or not. Yesterday, I went and took the plunge. I bought the following items.

Cosmetics:
Infiniti OEM chin spoiler
Infiniti splash guards front/rear
Aluminum pedal kit
Clear side corners with correct coloured bulbs

Performance
Z-tube
Stillen exhaust
Stillen CAI
Motordyne 5/16" spacer
Gordgee's grounding kit

Suspension
Tein H-tech springs
Stillen swaybars

Still to come??
CrawfordZ headers
CrawfordZ high-flow cats
Technosquare ECU (definitely will do)

Now, my question is how much would the CrawfordZ headers and high-flow cats help with all the other mods I've got? Also, is there a certain time frame that you'd wait to install these parts. Right now, I'm only at 1009 miles. The reason I bought all these mods now is because the shipping to Hawaii is outrageuos and of course because the wife agreed to us buying all of them at once. Anyway, tell me what you guys and girls think. Thanks.

Geeeeezzzzzzz......that's a lot-o-mods at once! (but it makes sense in your situation) A suggestion would be for you to begin the performance mods AFTER your car is broken....otherwise you would be WAY too tempted to go above 4K and WOT ...just a suggestion. Once you begin your performance installs....try doing them one at a time (start w/ Z-tube....go take it for a spin or two, then do the next (probably CAI), go for a spin (or drive it for a few days like that), then move on to the MD spacer (test drive), then the Stillen exhaust (test drive) and then the grounding gear. Just my suggestion....this way you can see, feel & hear each of the installs, what they do for your car, how they improve acceleration, intake noise, etc.

I ended up installing my MD spacer, Y-pipe & coupe mid-pipe all at once and kind of regret it (I had a friend who lives out of state helping me for the day, so time was of the essence). Just wish I saw the improvements piece by piece.

To answer your question re: the cats & headers.....does the Stillen exhaust include a Y-pipe and a mid-pipe? If so, then I think you'd definitely want to get the CrawfordZ too (otherwise, your restriction for flow will be @ these stock parts....and the downstream exhaust sections won't be used to their full potential! ) (that's your selling point to your wife, BTW ). Search around to see what other members have had to say about their headers & cats. Good luck w/ the installs!!!!!!!

Wow all those mod for your G35. I just picked up my 06 G35x and was looking at doing some mods for it also. I have an idea on what i want to get but I wanted to see what mods anyone else has done to their sedans. I'm still new to all this modding stuff. I don't know if you will be able to tell me this but the Infiniti OEM chin spoiler is it something that you have to drill holes in to the chin of the bumper to install? Keep us posted on your modding progress. It'll be one sweet ride when all of mods are done!

Yes, you have to drill holes in the stock bumper to properly secure the chin spoiler and the splash guards. If I can, I'll take detailed pics of the install and do a write for everyone. Anyway, hope this helps. Peace.

i'd like pics on that oem chin spoiler install too. i want to get the lip, but i'm worried about scraping everywhere...

i had a dropped accord and that was annoying to worry about. although it developed a good habit of going slow when going up and down curb cutouts

^^^ The OEM front lip doesnt go more than 1/2" lower than the stock bumper. I have it on my '05 and it goes right over the bump stops/curbs in parking lots. If you lower the car then it will hit but with the stock sport suspension, it doesn't scrape.

BTW- That's a hell of a lot of money to drop on all those mods at once, anways... take some pics as all the mods get installed, im interested to see how it all comes together.

1Badmax welcome to Hawaii there are not that many G35 sedan owners on the board mostly coupe owners. Good move purchasing all your modds before you arrive here on island. I did the opposite but so far so good when it comes to shipping charges I haven't had to pay a lot for shipping. I have cosmetic mods Tint, chin spoiler, rear spoiler, clear sides, aluminum pedals, 19" wheels, eibach pro kit springs and tinted windows if you need advice just let me know.

Aloha

Cool, thanks. I didn't want to drop all this money on my car all at once. But, desperate measures come at desperate times....haha. Anyways, hopefully I'll get a chance to meet a few locals, as well as military G35 owners while I'm out there. See everyone in March. Peace.

I like CrawfordZ, but he price seems a little steep. Yeah, yeah I know after all the money I've spent, I'm actually concerned about the money headers will cost me. What I've looked at maybe doing is Alphawerks headers and CrawfordZ cats. The Alphawerks headers seem to lay down around 17-21 whp which is pretty good for just under $700. The quality also looks excellent to me too. The CrawfordZ headers seem to get very good reviews around here too, but I really don't know if there worth another $400. Anyway, I'll do some more researching and probably decide today or tommorrow.

Thanks for serving. I'm in the military also but I'm in the NG. Got 11 years in going on 12. Just re-enlisted for another 6 years while in I was in Iraq. I'm over the hump so I'm going to do the full 20 years. Just got back from my second tour overseas. Glad to see someone else in the military that has a G35 sedan also!
