How do you know when AWD is working or VDC is working?

Hello all,

I have had my 05 g35x for a few months now. I love it so far. I did alot of searching but can't seem to find the answer to this question.

How do you know when the AWD is working and when VDC is working? Since there is only 1 slip icon?

Reason I am asking is because I don't understand too much of how the whole system works. All I know is that I have taken a few turns too fast(not on purpose), the back spun out, slip icon flashs, in a few seconds, the car is going straight again. Is that the VDC fixing my error or was that the AWD?

Thanks

In your situation, the VDC was working. The AWD is always active varying the percent of torque to the front/rear wheels depending on conditions. It starts 25% front, 75% rear, and varies from there, unless you have snow mode on in which case its 50/50.

Disclaimer: This is how it works on the 04; I'm pretty sure its the same for the 05s, but it's been a while since I've been on this site. I might be rusty.

I don't have the X but I know when my VDC or traction control is working because I can hear a buzz in the dashboard, sometimes the gas cuts, or brakes apply on their own

so the awd does not help at all in handling in dry weather? I thought it would help in cornering and stuff?
