Re: 5 auto vs. 6 MT

There is enough torque in the engine to almost drive it like an automatic when you feel like it! I can drive in 4th or 5th from like 20 mph to 100 mph and never shift! You can even skip gears when you shift. But I like to shift ...so I am always using every one. The 6 MT is much more fun.

Re: 5 auto vs. 6 MT

I forget where I read it but it was something to the effect that the shifter had a notchy feel to it. In researching this car I saw enough threads like this
http://forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthre...e#Post67514600

over on freshalloy that if I were buying a standard I wouldn't consider buying a G35... if you were to do a similar search for transmission problems over on IS300.net you would find nothing. But I am sure 99% of them are okay and I do prefer a standard to an auto myself much more fun to drive.

Not buying it alderran, The things a dream after it's broken in and you learn how to drive it. I have just over 12K on it and it's smoother than my wife's Honda Auto, if I want it to be. I tested the both the g35's at the dealer and have a good buddy with the auto and it's a great tranny too, but nothing like the stick.

G35/S/MT....this car rocks!
