Thinking about new rims for G35x...how are these?

Hi all,

I've been thinking about getting rims for my car for a long time now. Haven't been able to get any good deals on the 05 sports g35 rims so looking aftermarket now. Probably want a new set in spring 06 (we'll see) but just wanted to ask and get some opinions. I can't stand the crappy Horenza's anymore. I don't want to spend too much on wheels and I see some on sale ones at tirerack.

They are 18x8, +35mm offset, 26.5 lbs, bolt patter 5-114 for $159 each. They also have a grey finish for $169.

I also like this one too. They are 18x8, +38mm offset, 29 lbs, bolt patter 5-114 for $249.

Will both of these fit into my G35x with no issues? The +35mm would line up better with the fender right?

Any suggestion would be helpful. Again not looking to buy immediately unless they have super good deals.

Chico, our wheel expert...will they fit?

Again, there are no options to lower the X models yet, so would these 18x8 make the gap any bigger or smaller? I wish the X can be lowered. Hopefully in the future...

Seems like 245/40/18 might be the wheel size to go with? Or is that too off the speedometer?

IMHO, I wouln't put those on my g35 even if they were free.... I prefer the rims with a polished or chrome lip for an upgrade.... I do like the 05-06 coupe rims though (I think they're forged, but I could be wrong)...so if I go Miglias, I'd go with these:

I guess we have different taste. I am not too into the rim that you liked. I don't like those little 3 dots on the side. Different strokes for different folks I guess. Alot of people buy the fat lip ones but I am not crazy over them.

while the rims in that picture blend with the car well, it looks unnatural. there is too much of a fender gap.

agree with mikee's choice more than fenix. But don't worry about who likes what cause that's an individual decision. Sorry mikee, I can't answer your main question about fitment.

Out of the 2 mikee listed, I like the Moda R6. They're subtle, but still look good. That's if you don't mind not having a lip. And as evidenced in rickK's car, I think it looks good. I almost bought the Moda R6s for my winter wheels. But, they're just way too heavy for my likings. You'll be driving it so go with what you like. Oh yeah, not sure about the fit on the X. I know they would fit on the RWD sedan, so I would guess they'd fit the X as well.

Yes agreed totally. Unfortunately they haven't made any lowering kits for the X.

Somehow on a wheel lip, having it or not doesn't matter to me. Although a thick lip like on angelina jolie is HOT.

The style has been around for a couple years now I think but I still like it. You know the weight for my 17s on the X?

Not feeling any of those rims.

And if you are concerned with looks go with a 19 inch rim and a 40 series tire. Minimal fender gap.

Haha...really? I think the 17's are just too small for the G. That plus I need to get rid of the Horenza's. I've seen X's that went with a 19inch setup to close the gap (looks lowered) but would cost alot. I believed bigdaddy had that but I don't see him on anymore.

I believed you have a X too right? What are you tires? Can I see a picture of it. I think I can afford 19 wheels (the same Moda R6 is $249 for 19's) but I don't see any affordable performance M+S tires for 19 inches. They are at least 300+ or something in that range per tire.
