Broken Door Handle - add to the list...

Looks like I'm once again a victom of the wonderful build quality of the G35: This moring the door handle/armrest broke right off while closing the door. It was gettting loose the past few weeks [from normal use mind you], and I has an appointment to get it fixed in a few weeks, but it looks like another trip the dealer to fix it today.

Hmm, 5K+ miles and I'm on my 9th trip to the dealer - I'm getting to realize there are more important things in a $40K+ car then just a good driveline and suspension. I would like to say good brakes also, but the constant squeaking and having the rotors replaced already does not warrent a complement.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. This is definitely not typical of any G35s I've been in. Hopefully the dealer will make things right with you. When did you first notice the door to become loose?

There is a defect in the door panel/handle, they replaced mine on my '05, was just loose, the new one had a modified part #. You had the rotors replaced by 5k miles?

I have an 03 sedan with 56000 miles and I have never had any problems with the build quality. /me knocks on wood.

All mass produced products will have some defective units, sorry for your bad luck, the more you bitch at them the better they will take care of you, so go in there irate and tell them everything you just told us!

My dealer is very good at taking care of things like this, I have never had to raise hell with them about anything, build quality is fine, like you said, any mass produced product can have some issues.

silverG I agree completely, never by the first model year of a vehicle, however if you own an 03 G35 you do not own the first model year. The car was available in the JDM before no?

Ya, the rotors were warped that was the cause of the wheel shake at high speed, not a rim problem that they thought it was.

Nice - was actually thinking about a VIP pass to the local strip club. Amazing how a nice rack can get me in a good mood

Build quality must be subjective, for I wish my G35 has just 1/2 the looks/assembly/quality mateials of the 2007 Camry. Not that I'm interested in purchasing this boat, but the interior is something to envy - considering Toyota sells 10x the # of these cars.

..but hay, at least I have an awsome Bose system

I have 9k on my 05 and I did have the door handle fixed, though mine never came completely apart. I have no real complaints, other than a window rattle.
