yeh since the oem 18s are all 18x8...getting a set of tires for all around the same size will do the trick. 120 per each is not bad...its about half the price for one michelin pilot sport so buying two michelin pilot sports will end up being around the same price as buying four kumhos.

Does anyone know if upgrading to larger wheels like this requres the speedometer to always be reprogrammed. I'm considering getting a G35x, but would like to swap the wheels with the 19" coupe wheels. Has anyone had to do this before?

Larger wheels/rims means you have less meat on your tires in order to get close to your OEM tire size specification. You want to stay within 2% of the OEM size....otherwise, you're really mess up your speedo. Another thing to consider....slightly larger O.D. (outer diameter of the tire) than the OEM will reduce your wheel well gap (looks better IMO)....running smaller than OEM will give you more of a gap (and would probably want to make you drop your car so it looks better). You don't need to get your speedo reprogrammed. Don't get coupe wheels for your X unless you plan on running the same tire sizes all around. Good luck.

I'm running 245/40s on my 18x8" Moda R6s with no issues at all. Offset is 45 and the car is an 05X.

I have a set of 2005 19" coupe wheels which are staggered that has been stored in my garage for some time now. Am I correct to conclude that they are safe to use on my 2005 G35x as long as the size on all 4 wheels are the same - 235/40/19?

With the 19's rims being staggered (I think the front is 8 wide and the rear is 8.5 wide - correct me if I'm wrong) if you use the same size tires, the tires won't have the same diameter because the rears will be stretched 1/2 inch wider. I don't know if it will make a difference, but it's something to consider.

The OEM 18 inch coupe wheels are 8 inches wide front and rear, but the OEM 19's are 8 inches wide in front and 8 1/2 wide in the rear. Eaac asked about 19's.

You're correct with the offsets for the 19-inch rims. The wheel/tire calculator that I use indicate that there is no difference in RPM between 8- and 8.5-inch rims as long as the size of the tire is the same. But I don't know the accuracy of the calculator. I raised the same question to Infiniti Canada but their response was vague..."regrettably, we would not be able to provide assistance, as the vehicle has not been tested with this type of tire." I am hoping that some members have actually experimented with my intended set-up i.e. same tire size on staggered wheels. My other option is just to buy a pair of front wheels.
