Clear bra installed...

I had the clear bra placed on my G today.
This has to be done by a professional installer, for anyone thinking of doing it themselves. Some window tint guys think it's pretty much the same, but it's not.
Even the professional that did mine, damaged the piece for the hood while trying to take out a bubble, and ended up removing it and cutting another piece. I really like the way it came out. 3M has a new, clearer film which my installer uses. It has less orange peel than the one it replaces.
I also had my headlights covered in 22 mil. That stuff is amazingly thick, and will obviously prevent any headlight damage, unless a meteor happens to fall on the car.
This is the first time I've had this done to one of my cars. I know some guys don't think spending money to protect the front end is wise, but to me, it's worth it.
Now I'm considering having my '04 Z06 done too.
If you are in South Florida and want his name, please contact me.

Well, the Z06 doesn't see much use, so there's no rush to get that done.
I've owned it since April, and only 490 miles so far.

How much did you pay for the film and labor I was quoted well over 800 dollars... I would rather just get my front end repained if I need that done instead.

Did it myself, but it's hard work and easy to screw up. Internet ordered the delux kit for about $200~240.

Should take someone, who know what he/she's doing 3~4 hrs.

I just called X-Pel here in town which is the distributor for their 3m films. And 3M hasn't changed to a more clearer film like what your installer said. They have used the same film for years.

Sales tatic again.

I paid $550 for film and labor. $50 extra for 22 mil cover over headlights.

Mine was $450 installed for the G35X, same for my GTO and my Mazdaspeed 6 will also be $450. This was for the front bumper, front hood, and side mirrors. He then does all the door edges and rear bumpers for free since I give him so much business. He does all the dealerships in the area, and they charge anywhere from $800 to $1200 for the service. The $1200 and up are the Ferrari/Lambo/Bentleys in the area.

Found preowned 03 911 for my bro-in-law last year & it had the clear bra. Front of car looked new! Just got a 05 Coupe 6mt for the wife...no clear bra. Paint chip city. Great product.
