ok i have an 03 G w/ the doggy trunk
is there any way i can buy a 03.5 trunk so the infiniti is spelled out across the whole trunk, because i want to get the 05 lights plus the GTR dark overlays, and those lights dont look good w/ the doggy trunk, and if it could be done, how will the trunk open, because the doggy trunk has the button on it, and the 03.5 i believe have a button inside of the car.

I like the sedan without infiniti spelled on it. So much so I had mine taken off.
Not sure about the other stuff though.

and it will look alot better if i put the 05 taillights on, because the lights are circle and the car wont have anything squared like the look of the doggy trunk

yeah Ive wanted to do the same thing but I just think it will be too much money unless i did all the connections myself and even then Im not sure if it would be worth it. I know what your saying tho with the 05 lets and gtr overlays, it wouldnt look as clean.

but im wondering maybe if i can get a trunk lid from a totalled G somewhere at a junk yard and then paint it, but im just wondering if the hook ups will all be the same

yeah was wondering the same thing. I guess if you get a good deal on the trunk lid call it an experiment. If you make this work then Ill be right behind you!

I have thought about the same thing. I figure the easiest way to do it, is have the doggy door shaved by a good body shop that does custom work and leave just the infiniti symbol and the button. I like the button anyway and it would still look good with the wider 03.5 style infiniti spelled out underneath it if you decided to go that route.

For me the button is fine it's just the square for the doggy door and the cramped infiniti that sucks. I suspect this will be much cheaper than purcashing a new trunk. If you are ever having anything else done to your car at the shop you can try to get it all done at the same time for cheaper.

Oh yeah, for some reason the doggy door pops out too, I have never tinikered around back there and I honestly don't know why it comes off but there must be some reason, so you might need alternate access to some wiring or something from inside the trunk.

^probably has to do with the trunk popping button on the exterior

do some research but I am sure a new trunk would be cheaper than getting your current trunk shaved and repainted. The 03 didn't come with a trunk opener inside the car? The read tail light modd does not light up with circles it's just a reverse light or were you talking of doing the complete 05 taillight upgrade?...

You could always pop the trunk with the remote key fob.

and as the second person i dislike the most here (SKEL. CRU) said, i can just use the FOB to open the trunk, so the button dont matter to me
