Thanks for everything.

Yeah are 110% right. But sometimes you know...when you ask newbie questions not everyone is eager to help. Although, I have many years of driving under my belt, I've never really gotten into understanding about cars until this forum (simple mods, simple diy, etc). I've learned a great deal here, thanks to helpful members like you Mr. Big.

I don't like that little Sears jack because the release valve and handle combo is too small which makes lowering the car smoothly difficult. I bought one a year or two ago and returned it the same day. The jack stands that come with that set are a good deal. At $15 for two, consider buying two sets.

Quote: Nice garage Russ (G35_TX), I'm sure he'll be impressed were using his car as an example.

Anyway is looks like he has the jack stand under the frame which is a good place as well, but I've seen the floor of the car give at this point, but that could be because that car was a POS. If you look at the attached pic I have circuled the point where I put the jack stand. Yes the green point is the rear differential, a very good place to jack up the back end or the car.
You can't use that location if your doing brake work or suspension work. Also its not a safe location since it does flex with the shock so its not stable. You want a stable location like frame rails, rear axle, etc.
