well then, that answers my question... no wonder you lost. My buddy has an 05 type-s with headers and intake and swears that he's beat a supercharged G but i think he's full of it. But i can see how a 300+whp rsx beat your G.

I know it has more power and weighs less but my point was they are sooo easy and inexpensive to make fast. For my headers, ypipe, pop charger, ztube and kinetix ssv, I have already spent more money that I did on everything on my rsx (engine wise). Full Race makes a turbo kit for the RSX that give 700hp, and its less than 5 grand.

03.5 Sedan here and 3rd gear is the magic gear.

Raced a friend's RSX-S from 20 and he got a slight head start because I started in 2nd (it took the auto tran a second to kick down to first), but once I hit 3rd, BYE BYE BIRDIE.

I want to say Full-Race is hands down a top notch company. The quality of their kits, the welds, everthing is engineered to perfection. I just wish they made stuff for the VQ. Here's a link regarding their kit for the RSX:

But to just say you can just spend $4K and get 700hp is a unfair. Cmon now, just like most N/A motors, to be able to support 700hp you're gonna need all the usual crap, (pistons, rods, engine management, not to mention your tranny will need to be ugraded too, etc., etc. etc.). All this stuff adds up.

I was just comparing prices. For a company of that quality to put out a kit capaple of that much power, and for that price is amazing. There are no kits for the VQ35 that put out that much power, very few of that quality, and even less around that price.
I love both cars, but my whole point was I can make an RSX able to stomp a G35 for the same money it would take to buy intake and exhaust for a G35.

I had a 2002 RSX-S with AEM CAI, Greddy EVO exhaust, Hondata K-Pro and a 2005 RSX-S with just an AEM Short Ram and I easily beat automatic G35's. But now with my 2005 6MT G I can tell you if you can drive there is no way to lose to an RSX-S with those mods. With those mods and a Hondata upgrade it would be a drivers race. The better driver would win. And losing to a base model I would say stop racing because you cant drive for crap.

I dont know who your'e talking to about that? I had mentioned an 05 rsx-s i/h/e vs an 05 sedan w/ pop-charger and y-pipe, AT. i LOSt by 1 car and half. Not a base model. Read carefully

Quote: I have Coupe 6mt, ztube, popcharger, kinetix ssv, headers, ypipe, jwt clutch. I raced the guy I sold my 02 Automatic Base RSX to and he whipped my ***. He easily had 3 cars on me by the time i was ready to shift to 3rd. I got the jump on him and didn't miss a shift. Those cars are very easy to make fast.
I would say you need to work on your shifting. A base RSX auto , will only run a mid 16.xx 1/4. Your coupe should do 14s easy at about 94+mph.

Quote: isn't an rsx-s just a hopped up civic (rebaged w/different sheetmetal)? is this what we're racing now? we didn't get enough of racing hopped up neons?

this is not ment as a stab at OP, but rather just general frustration with how the vq doesn't respond well to mods. we have no hopes of beating hopped up bmws (m3's) (yea yea i know, turbo and nos, but bmw does it with 3.3L why can't we do it with 3.5L?) so we race neons and civics. and what's compounding the problem is that there are so many cars now that have the same acceleration as a stock g35 and they all wanna race. automatic lexuses are killing us now, with samll modifictions (exhaust) those 350s run 13.3 quarter miles, that was corvette territory just a couple years ago.
I agree with this person 100% this is the same thing i was thinking in my head. Lets hope the new G37 is fast or we're done for..lol
I dont think G35 as a "fast" car anymore, i just think its sexy and thats about it. I love the inside of G35, and the Rsx has a ****ty inter.

I have a Type-S W/ CAI, Race header, & Greddy exhaust.

I will not run a G, I think that it should smoke me, no need for embarrassment.

I'm a firm believer that "there is no replacement for displacement"
