My 03 5AT sedan performs like my old 94 Z28 (MPGs and 1/4 mile)

For the past two days my wife, son, wife's sister, and my two cats have been driving to Atlanta (job transfer). We had exceptional weather (60s-70s, no rain) on the drive from Kansas City to Atlanta plus my 16 month old son handled the trip perfectly. Another nice thing was the MPGs my G got. Averaging 72mph (2600rpms), facing a stiff 15mph head/crosswind, a loaded trunk (150lbs or so) plus my son and gear in the passenger compartment, my G was averaging 26.3-27.1 mpgs depending on the terrain I faced. That is by far the highest MPG my G has ever gotten on a trip. Previously the car had seen 24mpgs. The only change to the car was the MD spacer. For comparison, my wife's 98 Legacy GT wagon (2.5 liter boxer 4)with her, her sister, two cats, roof top carrier, and about 150lbs in gear averaged 24mpgs.

In 90%+ city driving, my G sees 17-18mpg depending on weather and fuel grade (winter gas, etc). This car behaves very much like my old 94 Z28 that saw 15-16mpgs in the city and 25mpgs on the highway Also, while packing up late last week, I found a timeslip for my 94 Z28 when it was stock (275hp, 3450lbs). It did a 14.33@98.2mph with a 2.0 60'. My "260hp" 3,400lbs G did 14.32@97.7mph. How's that for technology

I cant say my X would keep up with my GTO though - would take alot to get the X into the mid 12's.

Good luck/good fortunes in Atl DaveB. I also had a 94z28 back in 97-99. Altough I never ran it at the track. The torque in that car made it feel a lot faster than the G. Amazing what time and technology can accomplish.
How does the md spacer feel?
