did you get your doors replaced yet? and how about the paint job was it good? I'm setup for an appointment on the 8th to replace the back doors and i'm too worried about color contrast since my sedan is an 03 black

Rust on the G35 Sedan

Good afternoon;
I am in Winnipeg and my G35 Sedan has a 04/2002 build date and I have about 36K on the car. No signs of rust YET but I am going to look this evening. I read a thread a few years back that there was some rust in the engine compartment where the front "struts" are bolted to the frame. You might want to check there as well.
If anyone hears any more about a RECALL, Please post it on the board!
Thanks for the information;

My 4 month old 06 is already showing some rust along what I think is called the rain gutter above the trunk, you know the area were water is channeled after it rolls off the back windshield....I'll get pics in a little bit, but I think I'll bring it up when I get my oil changed.

I just looked at my car. It looks like the drivers door as very very small bubbles in the area where it meets the door seals and some of the bubbles have rust spots forming. I will definately have my dealer look at this. Im currently at 76,000miles on my 2003, I hope it would still be covered under the rust protection (Im not sure how long this is)

rust is covered 7 years unlimited mileage.

but this is considered a recall and not a warranty claim. the doors have a design flow and that's why they're changing them.

some people are saying it's a silent recall... others don't. I say go and check it with your dealer. he'll take a few pictures and call you a week later to give you an appointment.

For all us '05-'06 owners, the hood is different than this pic, so not sure if it applies.

Received a letter from Infiniti yesterday for my 2004 sedan. It provided a sticker to place in the Warranty Booklet extending the corrosion coverage from 7 years to 10 years unlimited miles.

Got mine too but the way they word the problem I'm not even sure what to look for... "Perforation due to corrosion in the door sash area"???

It further explains that the warranty is extended by 3 years to cover "perforation due to corrosion in the door and door frame". It says, "If you detect and perforation due to corrosion in the door area as described" - to contact Infiniti.

What the hell am I suppose to be looking for? Damage to the door panel from rust in the door? Should we pull the panels off to see if there is rust forming? Personally I'd rather catch the rust before it gets to the point that it causes damage that is obvious.

I have 26250-mile service scheduled in 2 weeks - I guess I'll ask them about it then.

Does anyone else understand better than I what this extending warranty refers to?
